We got an update about two of our old buddies 🥰
******************************************
Hi! I saw your stories and thought I’d share an update with y'all!! It’s been a few years, but I know Memphis was returned a couple times (and if i remember correctly, i think she was pretty memorable with the people who were there at the time) I got her in June of 2022 and it’s been amazing ever since. I kept her name because I felt that since she already knew it, why take it away from her. She is my soul dog, 100%. she’s been thriving and living her absolute best life since I got her. She’s taken more road trips and gone on more adventures than most people i know. She’s a diva and will not stand for anything less than being tucked in my bed every night. Her white hairs are more prominent now, she’ll be 5 in just a couple weeks!! I did a DNA test on her and my god is she a mutt. Staffy, pit, catahoula leopard, bluetick coonhound, lacy dog, CHIHUAHUA and COYOTE. There’s not enough words i could say about her, and you guys for giving me the dog of my dreams.
I also got Duke from y'all (his name was Nandor at the time, and scout at the shelter before that) in July of 2022. He wasn’t with you guys but for a couple days after being transferred from the other shelter. I remember my first time seeing him, he just looked so sad and done with life. I remember crying when I left him because I felt so bad leaving him behind. But he couldn’t be adopted out since he had to get neutered, so I waited. I came back everyday to see him until he was ready to go. I remember the day he was officially up for adoption, and I was there waiting before you guys opened. Praying to god he’d still be there even though I was the first person there haha. The overwhelming joy I had when I was able to take him home is unexplainable. He was so drugged up and was questionable with Memphis, but now he can’t go anywhere or do anything without her. His greys are coming in so bad, he’ll be 5 in January 🥲. Him and Mem are inseparable, they have the best bond I’ve ever seen between dogs. He’s the little brother that wants to make sure she’s safe at all times. He’s my trouble child now, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. He’s such a protector (as gsds are) and i honestly never knew how much I'd need him in my life. I did a DNA test on him, and it came back 100% GSD - for people who care about purebreds, they would’ve loved to get their hands on him. I always make jokes how he’ll be the only $25 purebred I’ll have.
They have birthday parties every year, annual dairy queen trips on their gotcha days, and have the biggest backyard they could ever need. I’m so grateful for y'all bringing me to my babies, I can’t even imagine a life without them now 🩷
