Don’t wait until next week to start preparing your pet for the 4th of July! Get your pet ready with these safety tips which are helpful all year round, not just at holidays:

Always have your dog leashed when outside- no matter how good a boy or girl you have. Things other than fireworks can spook your pet.

Create a safe space for your dog: this can be a crate, a closet, a small room with no windows, with some comfy blankets, favorite toys, and water.

Divert attention when inside: use a favorite munchie or new toy to distract from outside loud noises.

Drown it out: have music, tv, or ambient noise on to mask the outside noises.

Stay home when possible: your dog always wants you around and will feel so much better with your presence, soothing words, and gentle pets.

Thank you for looking out for your best friend!
