How often should I trim my dog's nails?

-Most dogs need their nails trimmed as often as every 4 weeks.
-Cat's nails grow even faster and should be trimmed every 2-3 weeks.
-Walking on hard surfaces like asphalt help naturally grind nails on dogs and extend the time between nail trims. However, if your dog has declaws; those nails don't touch the ground and therefore will continue to grow at a normal pace.
-It's important to stay on a regular schedule as nails will continue to grow and can impact the way your dog stands/walks as well as curl and puncture the paw pads.
