A note from your dog:
The first day of school, the alarm clock rings
Mom and dad are mighty happy when the kids run off to school!
But to us dogs, this is a really sad thing!
The kids are all tidy and stylish as they all rush away
We are sad, as we sit and wait all through the day.

Nobody throws us a toy or a ball
Or sneaks us any treats, nothing at all
We’re staring out windows, and watching the door,
We pace in the hallway and sniff on the floor.
We try to look brave, but our hearts really ache—
This back-to-school thing is a terrible mistake!

So before you all rush off to to make your first class,
Remind mom and dad we need to see the dog groomer
Maybe they should have called a bit sooner.
