Hippo update🦛

He is still hospitalized at our partner vet. After receiving a CT Scan it was revealed that Hippos’s jaw is fractured in 3 different spots and his front leg is fractured in 2 spots.

The repairable portion of his jaw was wired in surgery yesterday and he is rocking a tape muzzle. His skull CT is under review at a Veterinary Dentist to determine the next steps for the non-repairable portions of his jaw. Once we know what the next steps are we’ll let all of you know! He does very well eating with the tape muzzle on, but is still in too much pain to eat comfortably without it, so for now he keeps it on while we manage his pain through all of this. His leg has been splinted and casted and he is on the road to recovery with that.

We’ve attached pictures of the fractures from the CT Scanz It’s absolutely heartbreaking just imagining what this little guy has been through! We are so grateful to have been able to step up and help him, and provide him with the second chance he deserves

Hello everyone! My name is Foggy! I am 3 month old Terrier mix lady and I weigh about 8 pounds. I think I carry most of my weight in my ears! Wanna know what my favorite thing is? Playing! I love to play with other dogs, children, and toys! My foster mom says I'm a smart puppy and figure out puzzle toys very fast! I love to be around humans, especially my 9 year old human foster sister. I like to keep tabs on her!

My foster family is helping me get started with my puppy training. I'm learning to walk on a leash and use the stairs. I am learning to potty outside and spend time in my crate. I am also learning when it's time to go to bed, and I love a good nap :) I am hoping to find a family who will play with me and teach me how to be a good girl! Graco is a sweet, submissive girl who deserves nothing but the best from here on out! She came to TNT as a breeder release and raised her LAST litter of puppies in her foster home. Now it is time for Graco to look out for number one! She's ready to find a family of her own!

Graco is an 8 year old, 30 pound, Golden Retriever/Poodle mix. She is submissive and sweet, and still pretty nervous about her new life. She is looking for a family who will be patient and kind as she learns how to just be a beloved family dog! She is fine around other dogs, though she doesn't interact with them much. She's making progress with potty training, using stairs, walking on a leash, and getting used to being around people. She's even starting to run around outside and roll in the grass with the other dogs in her foster home! We are sure her personality will continue to emerge as she gets more comfy in her forever home. Hello friends, my name is Palermo! I am a 3.5 month old German Shepherd/English Shepherd mix male puppy with a great personality! I am good with other dogs and I've been friendly with every person I've met, big and small! I'm learning lots of things in my foster home, like how to walk on a leash, spend time in my crate, and go potty outside. I have not had any accidents indoors! I am also good in my crate and sleep there over night and for naps or when I'm left alone.

Jazz the 6 year old Shepherd mix is so sweet and docile, she'll be a lovely addition to her forever family! Jazz weighs about 50 pounds and has the most perfectly pointy ears. She is working on potty training and is crate trained, and she warms up quickly with treats! Jazz is respectful and friendly with other dogs. She's submissive but will vie for human attention! She'd be happy to be an only dog for all the attention, but she'd also do great in a multiti-dog household since she's very respectful of her canine companions.

If you need a buddy to help you get your daily steps in, Jazz is up for the job! She walks well on a leash and loves to go for long strolls. After adventuring, Jazz is happy to nap on the couch near her humans, or on her bed. She will be easy to train, as she receptive and responsive. Hello, new friends, let me introduce myself! My name is Galway and I am a 5 month old German Shepherd/Bernese Mountain Dog mix! I weigh about 50 pounds currently but I'm a growing dude! My foster mom says I'm a very smart puppy and I have already learned what "sit" means. I'm making progress with potty training quickly, and I've been sleeping in my crate successfully!

I'm a playful and energetic puppy and I enjoy romping with other dogs. I also love to play fetch - I'll bring that ball right back to you if you promise to throw it for me again! Earlier today we received a message from our friends over at One Tail at a Time about a sweet Doxie with a broken jaw and leg fractured in 2 spots, who needed rescue placement asap! This little guy was left outside an animal hospital and found by the staff sitting a puddle of his own blood. What a heartbreaking and shocking scene for them to see when starting their day.

One of our amazing fosters said YES to saving him without hesitation! We’re naming this adorable guy Hippo!!! He was such a sweetie on the car ride over. His foster mom softly sang to him, letting him know things will be okay now.

We just left our vet River West Animal Hospital where he’s staying overnight to be monitored. First thing in the morning he’ll be getting a CT Scan to determine the severity of these injuries and the next steps

Transport will be Saturday, May 3rd! We will be heading down to Kentucky and should be arriving back to St. Charles in the afternoon. Pick up will be in St. Charles. We need fosters to save their lives!

Lassen the Frenchie is looking for a place to call home! She is 2.5 years old and weighs about 25 pounds. So far, she has shown us that she's tolerant of other dogs, but likes to do her own thing. She does well with children as long as introductions are slow and children are calm! She's working on overcoming her fears, so she's still a bit nervous meeting new people. We think she will do best in a home with another calm and submissive dog, or as the center of attention ;-) Lassen loves to carry her bones and toys around the house which is so adorable, and she's content to chill out and entertain herself. She's getting braver every day, though, and seems to want to be a part of the goings on in her foster home! Are you looking for the snuggliest big pup in all the land? You have come out the right place! Meet Denali, a 4 year old Great Dane with a lovely temperament. Denali loves children and she seeks out her resident human foster siblings for cuddles whenever they are around. She leans on every new human she meets! She is tolerant of other dogs, though she prefers to chill in her own space. She's also very smart - she knows 'sit', 'down', 'stay' and 'shake'! She's doing well walking on a leash, she's crate trained, and she's potty trained too!

Denali likes to spend her days napping and snuggling. She's happy to relax on the couch by herself or, even better, with any human who is available.
