One Year Later… What an incredibly wild year it has been. 🌪️🙃
One year ago today, Mike and I took a leap of faith and became the new owners of Country Valley Mercantile (formerly Johnson Farm & Pet).
Over the past year, we’ve learned a lot, made improvements, worked hard to grow, added new products, services, and ideas, and dreamed about what this store could become—all while holding onto what matters most.
Country Valley Mercantile isn’t just a store to us. It’s a place where neighbors run into each other, where stories are shared at the counter, and where we get to know your families, your farms, and your lives.
One thing we’ve heard this year is that our new name has caused a little confusion. Some people have wondered if we’re still a feed store.
The answer is absolutely YES!
We’re still proud to provide the livestock feed, pet food, chicken supplies, and farm essentials you’ve counted on for years. Those roots are an important part of who we are, and they always will be.
We’ve simply grown.
Today you’ll also find standing seam metal roofing and custom trim, gutters, tools, hardware, lawn and garden supplies, hunting products, gifts, snacks, a large STIHL selection, a full small engine service department, and so much more!
Our vision was never to replace what this store has always been, but to build on it—to create a place where farmers, homeowners, families, contractors, and neighbors all feel welcome. A place where you can stop in for a bag of feed, a new chainsaw, bird seed, a bolt, a gift, or just a friendly conversation.
We are a small, locally-owned business that depends on this community.
