This lovely little lady is Belle, and we were delighted to spend time with her this afternoon on her feel good Dapper Spa Day! Belle is such a sweet girl who does wonderful for her entire session, and she especially enjoys all the extra attention she gets during her invigorating spa treatment which leaves her feeling fabulous all over. Hello! My name is Maria Bailey and I am the owner/groomer of The Dapper Yapper.
I am passionate about all dogs...small ones, big ones, hairy ones, hairless ones and more! I was raised in San Simon here in South Eastern Arizona, so it is with great pride that I am able to return to my home area and offer you professional grooming services.
Dogs have always been a major part of my life. Through the years I've had mixed breeds, pure breeds and champion show dogs. I have shown and bred pure breed Cavalier King Charles Spaniels, Lhasa Apsos and helped my daughter with junior showmanship with her Yorkshire Terrier. I discovered my true niche in life was grooming. In 1996 I was doing all the grooming for my show Lhasa Apso, Ch LynnLaines Nickel Slots, and additionally doing in-home grooming of my 97 pound Rottweiler and 40 pound Australian Cattle Dog. By 2004, I added grooming my six show Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. In 2009, I brought about my first and last litter of Cavalier King Charles Spaniels. Breeding, when done correctly, is expensive and not for the soft hearted (placing those puppies was the most difficult task ever!). I began to groom these puppies I bred for their new owners in the twin cities area in Minnesota. By 2010, I had moved to South Eastern Wisconsin, and in 2014 I was hired by Petsmart as a bather. Within 60 days, they recognized I would make a great groomer and selected me to attend their professional grooming academy. Grooming Academy was a rigorous 6 weeks long, with 40 hours per week of learning and on the job grooming training.
After successful completion at the academy, I returned to my grooming shop and began working on my completion of 200 grooms while being mentored by a seasoned groomer. This consisted of grooming many different breeds from all of the recognized AKC groups. I completed my 200 grooms in about 8 weeks and started grooming without supervision. I groomed full time anything that was scheduled for me for two years. I groomed Standard Poodles, Airdales, Portuguese Water Dogs, Yorkshire terriers, Lhasa Apso, West Highland Terriers, Labradoodles, Goldendoodles, Golden Retrievers, German Shepherds, Cocker Spaniels, Newfoundlands, Great Pyraneese, Schnauzers and the list goes on and on. I built my reputation on grooming dogs that other groomers refused to touch...the difficult ones, the naughty ones and the scared ones. Because of this, I picked up a lot of request clients.
My intent is for your dog to have an excellent groom and not just a basic bath. This means I include tooth brushing, nails, ears, and a**l glands. I offer shampoos that best enhance your dogs coat, whether he/she is suffering from allergies, skin irritations, or just been sprayed by a skunk. Every shampoo is followed by a conditioner, again taking into account the needs of his coat or skin. I've selected add-on services to offer you which will enhance your dogs life such as mudbaths, deep conditioning treatment and facials for tear staining. Want your dog to look and feel awesome?
