On June 14th from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm, we will be gathering at Michigantown Park to work on sustaining training behaviors in a group setting. This is a great opportunity to increase engagement with you and your dog, meet other people practicing the same training, and put your handling skills to the test, with hands-on coaching available.

Any Private Lesson or Board & Train graduates are eligible to attend for free. If you are unsure of your eligibility, please contact Amanda directly at 317-812-7972.

At Perspective K9 we let our work speak for itself 🐾

Here is Daisy! She is 6 months old and is currently working on her neutrality around people and dogs. She usually has some big words to say when she sees things that interest her so we work in a big open space to keep her successful initially 💪🐾

It is all about the foundations! And as you can see at the end, Daisy is working hard 😂🐾

Food in dog training isn’t a bribe, it’s communication. 🐾

A bribe is shown before the behavior to beg the dog to listen.
A reward is earned after the behavior to reinforce success.

There’s nothing wrong with using food to teach, motivate, and build engagement. The goal is clarity and consistency, not dependency.

Training tools don’t create reliability. Proper training does.

🐾 Summer Dog Safety Reminder ☀️

• Keep up with flea, tick, and heartworm prevention during warm months
• Be cautious around lakes and ponds, not all water is safe for dogs to swim in.
• Hot weather can make dogs more irritable or overstimulated, so advocate for their space.
• Don’t over-exercise your dog just because they seem excited to go.
• Shade is important, but airflow matters too when dogs are outside.
• Keep cookout foods and alcohol away from curious noses.
• ID tags and updated microchips are extra important during summer travel and holidays.

Summer should be fun, and safe, for everyone, including our dogs. 🐶☀️

Meet Elle - a very happy and sweet 2 year old Pitbull/Boston Terrier Mix for our Pup of the Month! 💚

Elle was with us for a one week board and train, where we focused on reactivity. Elle absolutely became the star of the show and we all fell in love with her! She may only have one eye but that doesn’t slow this girl down at all!

We are so proud of Miss Elle and hope she comes back to us very soon!

From all of us at Perspective K9, today we pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Memorial Day is more than a holiday, it’s a time to honor those who gave everything so we could live freely, safely, and with the opportunities we often take for granted.

As a business built on loyalty, service, trust, and protection, we hold deep respect for the courage and sacrifice of our military heroes and their families. We also remember the working dogs who served faithfully beside them.

Today, we remember the fallen.
We honor their legacy.
And we remain forever grateful.
