🐴 DID YOU KNOW?

Horses have an incredible ability to read our emotions. They can pick up on our body language, facial expressions, tone of voice, and even our energy.

That’s one of the beautiful things about horses they don’t care what kind of day you’ve had, what you look like, or what you’ve accomplished. They simply meet you where you are. ❤️

At Anna’s Acres, we believe there’s something special about the connection between people, animals, and the land. Sometimes a quiet moment beside a horse can say more than a thousand words.

🌻 Calling All Gardeners & Plant Lovers! 🌿

Do you have extra perennials that need a new home? Anna’s Acres would LOVE them! ❤️

We’re working on creating beautiful outdoor spaces around the farm and are looking for perennial plants of all kinds, including:

🌾 Ornamental grasses
🌸 Mums
🌹 Roses
🤍 Hydrangeas
🌼 Daylilies & flowering perennials
🌿 Hostas & other greenery
…or anything else that comes back year after year!

Whether you’re dividing plants, thinning flower beds, or just have extras, we’d be incredibly grateful to put them to good use at Anna’s Acres.

Our goal is to create beautiful spaces for photos, gatherings, events, and simply enjoying the farm for years to come. 🌻🐴

What Anna’s Acres is built on. Foundation. Teaching our youth about horsemanship, hard work and perseverance! We couldn’t be more proud of the generation being raised around our farm!

Last night reminded us that Anna's Acres has become so much more than we ever imagined.

Carrie Caraco-Melloh got a call about several cats that needed help. We aren't a cat rescue, and rescuing cats wasn't exactly on the schedule. But if you know Carrie, you know she has a hard time turning away when an animal is hurting. This was after she got off work around 7:00pm, drove an hour home from work and then went to work in our community.

So, she loaded one up and found a home for it. Got another call about an hour later for another abandoned cat in a parking lot. And got home around 11:00pm after all of that. She's not looking for applause or acknowledgement, in fact, she's probably mad as she's reading this.

As I thought about it this morning, I realized that's happened a lot over the past year and the last 7 years since moving to Russiaville from Indy. We never planned for our home and farm to become what it has.

It started with rescued horses at our home that God brought to us during COVID. Then came kids, families, special education students, community events, small businesses, and now...cats.

I've learned that sometimes God has plans for a place that are bigger than the plans we started with. Careful what you pray for as God is in the business of answering prayers, especially ones that love and serve what He created.

Anna's Acres isn't just about horses. It's about opening our gates, caring for what's been entrusted to us, and doing our best to leave people, and sometimes animals. a little better than we found them.

We're grateful for everyone who's been part of the journey so far. We have a feeling the best chapters are still ahead.
