Price Update - Rabies Vaccination $20, Distemper $30, and Distemper with Lepto $36

Dog tags are still $5 for spayed or neutered dogs and $10 for intact

A pet clinic will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Lucas Powerhouse, 119 Power Ave. Russell Veterinary Services will be available to vaccinate your pets against rabies if needed. Rabies Vaccinations are $20 per pet. Distemper shots are also available, but not required, for $20 per pet.

If you have a dog, City Ordinance #366 requires you to purchase a dog tag, which will be available for purchase at that time. You may also purchase dog tags at the City Office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. each business day. Proof of a current rabies vaccination by a licensed veterinarian is required. Dog tag fees are:

Neutered or spayed dogs - $5.00

All other dogs - $10.00

By City Ordinance #366, a late penalty of $10.00 per animal is charged after May 1, 2026. After May 15, 2026, a complaint may be signed, and a court date will be scheduled. You will also be responsible for $87.50 in court costs and penalty assessments. Please note the final day to purchase a dog license is May 15, 2026. If you have any questions regarding vaccinations or licenses, please contact the City Office.

If you no longer have a dog, we would appreciate your informing the City Clerk so your pet can be taken off the dog list.
