🐾💙 HAPPY VET TECH WEEK TO OUR AMAZING VETERINARY TECHNICIANS! 💙🐾
If you’ve ever wondered who’s right there beside the doctor, behind the scenes, and sometimes literally covered in things we probably shouldn’t talk about over dinner… let us introduce you to the SUPERHEROES of veterinary medicine! 🦸♀️🩺🐶🐱
At Fairlea Animal Hospital, we are SO lucky to have a team of veterinary technicians who give their hearts, their hands, their time, and sometimes their last clean pair of scrubs to care for our patients. 😂💙
Our vet techs do SO much more than most people ever see. They’re the ones who:
🩺 Draw blood, place catheters, run lab work, and monitor anesthesia.
💩 Clean up diarrhea, collect stool samples, and somehow handle the world’s worst p**p explosions without missing a beat.
🤢 Clean up vomit, express a**l glands, empty abscesses, and deal with all the smells that would make most people run for the hills.
🩸 Handle wounds, blood, pus, urine, and things that would make your average person lose their lunch.
💉 Give injections, administer medications, and comfort patients who are scared, painful, or just plain MAD about being at the vet.
🐕 Wrestle a 100-pound dog who has suddenly decided they have never walked on a leash before.
🐈 Attempt to convince a spicy cat that nobody is trying to ruin their entire life. (Spoiler alert: the cat disagrees. 😹)
🫶 Hold, soothe, and reassure pets who can’t understand why they’re here.
❤️ Monitor patients under anesthesia, recognize emergencies, and act quickly when every second matters.
😭 Comfort worried pet parents, celebrate good news, and hold hands and paws through the hardest goodbyes.
🧹 Clean, disinfect, restock, prepare rooms, answer questions, help doctors, educate clients, and jump in wherever they’re needed.
And that’s STILL not everything!
They are nurses, lab technicians, anesthetists, patient advocates, professional p**p detectives, expert multitaskers, emotional support humans, and sometimes miracle workers — all rolled into one. And they do it while juggling a million things at once, getting scratched, bitten, peed on, p**ped on, puked on, and occasionally questioned by a patient who is absolutely convinced they are the enemy. 😂🐾
But here’s what we really want everyone to know…
Our veterinary technicians are SO much more than the things they do. They are compassionate, hardworking, knowledgeable, patient, dedicated, and endlessly giving. They advocate for patients who cannot speak for themselves. They notice the little things that make a BIG difference. They show up on the hard days, stay calm in the chaos, and give love to every patient who comes through our doors.
They are the heartbeat behind so much of what we do, and our doctors, our team, our patients, and their families are better because of them. We quite literally could NOT do this without them. 💙
So this Veterinary Technician Week, we want to give our amazing techs the recognition they deserve. The long days, the messy moments, the difficult cases, the emotional goodbyes, the happy recoveries, and all the countless things they do that nobody ever sees — WE SEE YOU. WE APPRECIATE YOU. AND WE ARE SO THANKFUL FOR YOU! 🥹💙
