Echo update ๐Ÿ’Š๐Ÿฅ

Echo is home from the hospital. We are SO incredibly grateful to everyone who quickly answered our plea for donations so that we could cover the rest of his much needed hospitalization. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

Echo is nibbling a little bit of hay on his own and his gut is slowly improving. He's continuing to receive sub-q fluids along with Critical Care and an antibiotic for the Coccidia. His has been grinding his teeth so he started Tramadol for pain this evening as well.

A huge thank you to Sherri who is taking great care of him. He's keeping her busy with all the treatments and butt baths. Taking care of a coccidia bunny is a lot of work.

We're also so grateful to Dr Brickett for being available and calling in another med on her day off. And thank you to her great team at Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital for their help as well! โค๏ธ

We can't wait for our sweet boy to be back to himself. ๐Ÿฅบ

Thank you, friends!!!! โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉนโค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

Poor Echo is getting his cottontail kicked by Coccidia! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ๐Ÿฅ๐Ÿ’‰๐Ÿคฎ

Echo, the cuddliest teddy bear is currently on his second day of hospitalization for ongoing diarrhea. We need urgent funds so he can continue to receive IV fluids!๐Ÿ™โ€ผ๏ธ

Diarrhea in rabbits is an emergency. They can quickly die if not immediately treated with fluids. Echo is being closely monitored by Dr. Brickett at Eau Gallie Veterinary Hospital. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน

We're so thankful that she got him diagnosed quickly and cares so much about making sure that he's in a good condition before discharging him.

Echo is hanging in but still feels pretty miserable. We need to keep him on the IV with lidocaine for pain and hydration as he's still passing liquid. He had been lethargic in his litterbox and grinding his teeth in pain.

This is why it's so important to house domestic rabbits indoors!โš ๏ธ They do not have the immune system that wild cottontails do. Our sweet boy Otis passed suddenly WITH NO SYMPTOMS a few years ago, and it was devastating to find out from his necropsy that it was Coccidia, which is treatable. That's why we started running f***l tests on every single intake, even though it is an additional cost.

We've also had to treat more than 30 buns for hookworms since January. They are also highly prone to ear mites, fleas, bot flies, RHDV-2, e.cuniculi, ear infections and respiratory infections, not to mention heat stroke, when they are outdoors - especially in the south. It's not worth the risk or the vet bills.

Echo just got picked up last week after being passed around to a few people. He has been through it and we just want him to be settled and be spoiled at home like he deserves!

Our account funds had been slated for 20+ spays/neuters next month. It has been wiped out to cover Echo's treatment so far and another bun who was at VEG ER on Memorial Day. Having two very ill buns at the same time is incredibly stressful but we have a fantastic community of rescue partners, fosters, and vets to get us through this time as best we can.

Thank to all of the vets who are helping to advise and support us this week!

Strom Park and Aripeka (Viera): BE ON THE LOOKOUT ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿšจ

No luck finding these buns after two searches. Last seen Thursday night along the southern trails of Strom Park and may have crossed into Aripeka.

We are very concerned about predators. Please help share if you belong to those neighborhood groups. Text 321.626.2728 if you see either.

Our silly Rex boy, Puddles is looking for a new foster or adopter! โ˜‚๏ธ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ’™

He's super friendly with velvety soft Rex fur! He's very playful and and enjoys lots of interaction. He does great with gentle kids and makes a perfect family bunny! He likes to chew so he needs grass mats and enrichment to keep him entertained. He has fun bouncing around on the couch and exploring the living room. He definitely needs a good amount of free roam time.

Puddles was rescued in March out in the rain. Don't worry, we didn't subject him to more water. AI assisted with the photo shoot.

Puddles is neutered and uses his litter box. We estimate that he's about 1 to 3 years old. He thought to be part of your family! He's currently located in Rockledge.

I can't believe we don't have a line of people for our floofy girls, Bebe and Jetta. We need an ASAP foster or furever home ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฅบ

Their wonderful foster mom and dad are sadly relocating. We just got Bebe and Jetta moved but the girl bunny in the home is acting out aggressively with them around so they need a new place urgently.

They will be a year old in June. They were from an accidental litter and are sisters. Bebe is our POOFIEST angora and Jetta is a double mane lionhead. (Bunny genetics are funny.)

Both are spayed, neat with their litterbox, and very sweet. They're a little shy at first and we'll take a little bit of time to get to know you but they are curious and Interactive. They will require an adopter who is comfortable with frequent grooming. Jetta is more timid and they would love a calm home.

Update: Foster Camryn stepped up! ๐Ÿ’• They're getting neutered today and will be ready for a forever home once recovered!

We still need a foster or adopter for these silly young lop boys! Someone take them this week? ๐Ÿ“ฃ๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ‡๐Ÿ“ฃ

Cover Lop and Mr. Daisy need to get moved asap. Their foster is moving. They are super playful buns who were born in the rescue so they've had great care. They are 5 months and starting to get humpy with one another because they're in their hormonal phase but we can get them in for neuters on Friday if we can find a place for them in Brevard this week. The hormones will calm down in a few weeks after the neuters.

We can lend you a pen and supplies to get started. Must be indoors. Please fill out our app if you can help! bit.ly/Scbadopterapp

We are completely heartbroken to share that Clover Leaf โ˜˜๏ธ (nicknamed Clovis) passed yesterday. ๐Ÿ˜ž๐ŸŒˆ๐Ÿ’”

He had been recovering from surgery to repair a broken leg after being found on St. Patrick's Day in a cage behind a strip mall in awful condition from trying to free himself.

He was a gentle soul who was such a good sport through all of his treatment. He adored his fosters, Delaney and Julia who were planning to make him their forever bun. ๐Ÿ˜ž They played lots of bunny games with him, which he loved along with tons of snuggles.

Clovis stole everyone's heart and we are so saddened that we only had 2 short months with him. He deserved so much more.

Thank you to Dr. Kitchen for her care for him. Thank you Annabelle and Sherri for saving him and the long drives to and from his surgery at Animal Hospital Of Bonita and Boarding. We all had such high hopes for his future.

And thank you to everyone who gave when he needed community the most. โค๏ธโ€๐Ÿฉน๐ŸŒˆ

We work to educate so that more bunnies don't end up with ill-prepared, uninformed people resulting in cases like his.

Please don't take rabbit knowledge from pet stores, breeders, homesteaders. Rabbits are NOT starter pets!!!

Welcome Gaia ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜

She's the third big gray Chinchilla girl in the rescue now! She's 8lbs of snuggly bunnyness and already giving kisses and flops.

We'll be getting her checked out and spayed.

Thank you to Suzanne for saving her and getting her to us and thank you to Delaney and Julia for making space for her!

We also have Tootsie who is already spayed and has been waiting. https://bit.ly/4nBB6WK

And Ivy who was rescued last week after being found dumped at a riverfront park. https://bit.ly/3RPOyKQ

Honey is our little busy bee! ๐Ÿฏ๐Ÿ’›๐Ÿ

She's been boppin around foster Gabrielle's house on the lookout to find her forever person and maybe even a bunny friend! (We told her that's not how it works, lol.)

Do you have a puzzle? An obstacle course? Honey wants to figure it out! She's a SUPER SOFT, smart girl who loves enrichment as well as snuggles. She enjoys her forage mat and conquering the height of the couch. She would love to have more company to play games.

Honey was rescued in Vero back in November. She has a little bit of Lionhead mane. She's likely a mix. She was suspected to be let go by someone who released a few bunnies. Being a friendly girl, she was pretty easy to catch, hanging out under a boat. Honey was a little unsure of her new surroundings at first, but she has gained her confidence and is doing great with her foster's dog and cat. Honey sits down for pets when she's in her pen. When she's free roam, she doesn't want to be interrupted in her important exploring activities.

We think she's about a year old and she is now spayed. Honey would love to have a bunny friend to keep her occupied with attention. Honey would be a nice bunny for a family with older, calm kids or teens and up. She's a little shy in new situations and might be stressed with little kids. But she gets comfortable with a little time, once her environment is just how she likes it.

Do you want to give our little princess the home of her dreams? Currently located in West Melbourne.

This teddy bear bun needs a place to go ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป
Loose bunny in Palm Bay also picked up!

The brown bunny in the hutch has been passed around to a few people and is in the possession of someone who can't keep him/her. We want to make sure the bunny ends up in good hands. We will get the bun vetted and spay/neutered if we can find a foster or foster to adopt.

The floofy little tan and gray girl was loose in Palm Bay. Thank you to Summer, one of our great supporters who picked her up and will be fostering her! Bun is a little thin and needed some cleaning up. We will get her checked out.
We still need places for Louie the Dutch lop, and the big gray chinchilla girl in our previous posts. Please reach out ASAP if you can help!
