Blame Culture.

I recently went in a place of business where everyone I talked to about any improvement I saw that needed to be made was shifting blame onto someone else.

I mention the food is inedible. The head of the establishment says we don’t have a five star chef here. I am not looking for a five star experience; I would just like for the kitchen not to burn the toast or bacon. 🥓 🍞

A remote to the tv is missing. One person says, nobody told me. Another person says, we have swipers around here. I just want someone who will say, it will be taken care of immediately. 📺

Essential equipment is misplaced or stolen. They say, we don’t have it. And they don’t know what happened to it. 👩‍🦽‍➡️

Whatever has happened to customer service? Service with a smile? Check the oil and fluids in the car when they fill the gas tank? Someone who will go the extra mile? 🛤️

Step up and do what’s right.

Mississippi parents, check this out! The MS LIFT center near me is fabulous and filled with age appropriate learning materials and toys.
You can even check out and return materials. My grands LOVED their visit to the toy library!

No matter what others think, you are beautiful.

People may look at the outward appearance but God looks at the heart.

First pass of the asphalt in front of my house.

A six month project on 7 or 8 city blocks on my street is finally coming to an end in only seven months! The road work was not delayed by rain, that’s for sure.
My yard is dry as can be. Goal of six months completed in seven, what could be better?! 6️⃣ 7️⃣

They have dug up and replaced huge concrete parts of the storm water drainage system deep below the ground. They have put new curbs and new driveways where needed. New sidewalks with accessibility ramps complete the set of street upgrades. 🚸 🧑‍🦽‍➡️

Now for the finishing touches. A newly paved street looks so good, don’t you think? 🛣️

I hope my house never floods again. 🌧️We’ve suffered through three floods of rainwater backing up from the storm sewer into my house.

Step one to getting new pavement: scrape off top layer of old asphalt. See my previous reel for that.

Step two: spray oil on the road.

I guess I’m stuck in my driveway for a while today. I’ll be so glad when they get it done!
