🐾 Appointment Availability Update 🐾

We are incredibly grateful for the continued trust and support from our growing client & patient family! Due to an increase in appointments, our schedule is currently booking approximately 7–14 days in advance for routine preventive care visits.

To help ensure your pet stays on track with their vaccines, annual exams, heartworm testing, and preventive medications, we encourage scheduling appointments as early as possible.

If your pet is due for upcoming wellness care, please give us a call to reserve your spot. As always, we will continue to accommodate urgent medical concerns as availability allows.

Thank you for your patience and for allowing us to care for your furry family members! ❤️🐶🐱

PET OWNERS: How can you prevent heat strokes? When should you be concerned?

If you don’t know the answer to those two questions, this post is for you!

🌡️ When does heat become dangerous for pets? Heatstroke risk becomes more of a concern once temperatures reach 70°F and above, especially with high humidity, direct sun, hot pavement, brachycephalic breeds (Frenchies, Bulldogs, Pugs), senior pets, overweight pets, or pets with medical conditions.

☀️ Heatstroke Prevention Tips for Pets 🐾

💧 Always provide fresh, cool water
🌳 Make sure shade is available outdoors
🚶 Walk early morning or later evening
🔥 Avoid hot pavement that can burn paws
🚗 Never leave pets in a parked car
😌 Limit strenuous exercise in the heat
🐶 Watch high-risk pets closely (Bulldogs, Frenchies, Pugs, seniors, overweight pets)

⚠️ Signs of heatstroke include heavy panting, drooling, weakness, vomiting, or collapse. If you notice these signs, seek veterinary care immediately. Stay cool and stay safe for the warmer months!

Happy Veterinary Receptionist Week to our amazing Angela! 💙🐾

Angela helps to keep our clinic running smoothly each and every day. From greeting clients with a smile to helping pets feel welcome and cared for, she does it all with kindness, patience, and compassion.

We are so grateful for everything she does for our team, our clients, and their furry family members. Pictured here, with her handsome boy, Gus, who we know keeps her just as busy at home! *P.S. he was not feeling pictures today!🐶

Please join us in showing Angela some love and thanking her for all she does during Veterinary Receptionist Week! 💐✨

🐾 Is your pet protected if they ever get lost? 🐾

April is a great time to take an extra step in keeping your furry family members safe—microchipping! A microchip is a simple, quick, and affordable way to give your pet a permanent form of identification that can’t fall off or be removed.

💡 Why microchip?
✔ Helps shelters and clinics quickly identify your pet
✔ Increases the chances of a safe return home
✔ Works for a lifetime with proper registration

At Madison Ridgeland Animal Hospital, we’re here to help keep your pets safe and give you peace of mind. Call us today to schedule your pet’s microchip appointment!

Because every lost pet deserves a way back home ❤️🐶🐱

P.S. Ask to have your pets scanned yearly to ensure their microchips are still in the correct place! They can migrate over time!
