Start your week off with a smile! Every Monday, we’ll feature a local organization making lives better for Rhode Island cats and the people who love them. This week we’re featuring the animal saviors at Maggie's Pet Pantry!

Maggie’s is a non-profit organization that assists families in feeding their pets, which also enables them to keep their pets in their homes. The food pantry welcomes South County residents and all Rhode Islanders in need of assistance in feeding their cats, dogs, and other companion animals. Maggie’s aims to provide care for community animals and to be an active part in the welfare of pets and their owners.

The facility opened in 2011 when Richmond Animal Control worked with founder Carol Terranova to create a pet pantry on the grounds of the animal shelter. The shelter and pantry are located at 51 Buttonwoods Road, Richmond, RI 02898. Maggie’s Pet Pantry is open on Wednesdays from 3pm-4pm and on Saturdays from 11am-12pm.

The pantry encourages donations of nonperishable food items as well as other animal necessities like litter, leashes, toys, dishes and bowls, blankets, etc. For more information about how to assist, email [email protected] or call 401-741-1596.

🐾 **Meet Snowball & Lucy: A Bonded Pair Seeking a Foster or Forever Home!** 🐶❤️

We have two special dogs in need of a loving family! Snowball, a male German Shepherd, is very skittish and tends to be a flight risk, while his partner Lucy, a female cattle dog cross, is shy and sweet but feeling stressed in the kennel environment.

**What They Need:**
- A home where they can stay together.
- A securely fenced yard (6 feet or higher) for safe playtime.
- Supervision is key! Lucy can get anxious and may chew things when left alone.

These two are inseparable and deserve a chance to thrive together. If you can provide a nurturing environment for Snowball and Lucy, please reach out! Let’s help them find their forever home! 🏡💖

🆘HELP… this poor mama and 11 pups were found and dropped off at the rescue( they are approximately 1 week old). If anyone can help us help them and can foster please contact us. You can comment and we will get in touch with you. All supplies needed and support will be given!
