A little bad luck for three very cute puppies. 💚

Poppy, Posie, and Petunia came into NWWBR last week, and all three have now been diagnosed with ringworm.

The good news is that ringworm is treatable. The less-fun part is that treatment takes time and comes with extra expenses for medication, veterinary care, supplies, cleaning, and keeping the puppies safely separated while they recover.

These three are already getting the care they need, but we could definitely use some help covering the added cost.

The scouting report is in: Poppy has serious prospect potential. 🏈🐾

Born June 6, Poppy is an Australian Cattle Dog mix with a growing puppy brain and plenty of learning ahead of her. With a 15–20 lb mom and a dad around 30 lbs, she may stay on the smaller side for a working-breed mix—but there’s still a lot of personality packed into that little frame.

Her ideal team? A family ready to put in the reps with training, give her opportunities to explore and adventure, and make her part of everyday life as she grows.

Nutmeg is still figuring out the world — and apparently everything deserves a closer look. 😂🐾

Born around 7/18/26, Nutmeg is a sweet shepherd-mix puppy with an adorably curious little face and a whole lot of growing ahead of him.

He’s at the age where life is equal parts exploring, learning, chewing things that probably weren’t intended for chewing, and discovering what it means to be part of a family. His future people should be ready for the normal puppy package: house training, socialization, basic manners, patience, consistency, and plenty of affection.

Nutmeg is looking for a forever home where he can grow into a confident, well-loved companion.

Meet Posie 💛

Born June 6, 2026, Posie is an Australian Cattle Dog mix with a little mystery in the family tree — and a whole lot of personality still waiting to unfold.

With a 15–20 lb mom and a dad around 30 lb, Posie is expected to stay on the smaller side for a working-breed mix. She’s at a great age to start learning the important stuff: confidence, manners, routines, and how to be somebody’s very best friend.

Posie is looking for a family ready for all the normal puppy work, fun, and chaos — and all the love that comes with it.

📰 EXTRA! EXTRA! Naomi is looking for her forever home!

Today’s headline: Local puppy seeks lifetime position with loving family.

Naomi is a beautiful shepherd-mix puppy born around 7/18/26, with striking black-and-white markings, enormous puppy eyes, and plenty of potential packed into one tiny body.

She’s still very young, which means her future family gets to be part of all the important firsts—training, socialization, learning household routines, building confidence, and discovering exactly who Naomi is going to become.

The job requirements? Patience, consistency, structure, affection, and a willingness to commit for the long haul.

The benefits? Watching a little puppy grow into your dog. 💚

We need fosters for these three little ones. 🐾

Last night, we’re picked up three puppies after a volunteer stepped in when a family was giving them away in a parking lot.
Now they have come into the rescue and will receive the veterinary care they need, and eventually be placed with carefully screened, highly qualified adopters. But getting dogs safely into rescue is only possible when we have somewhere for them to go.

That’s where fosters make all the difference.

Every dog who moves from our receiving home into a foster home opens space for us to say yes to the next dog who needs help. Fostering doesn’t just help the dog in your home—it directly increases the number of dogs we’re able to bring to safety.

These puppies are believed to be small-to-medium herding mixes, and we’ll learn much more about them once they’re here and settled.

NWWBR provides the support and supplies needed while you provide the safe place, routine, and love.

NOW HIRING: Chief Snuggle Officer. 🐾

Knox is accepting applications for a permanent position as your professional sidekick.

His qualifications include being fully potty trained, walking nicely on leash, having a great start on recall, and learning cues like sit and down. He’s also highly experienced in toys, exploring, relaxing with his family, and staying close to the people he loves.

Archer has the kind of smoldering gaze that makes you feel like he knows something you don’t. 😏🐾

At around 10 months old, Archer is a sweet, affectionate young dog who loves being close to his people. He’s already built a great foundation: potty trained, sleeps through the night in his crate, walks well on leash, and rides nicely in the car.

He has done well with dogs, cats, and people, and he’s eager to learn. Archer enjoys training, pays attention to his people, and seems to genuinely like figuring out what you’re asking of him.

He’s still a young dog with plenty of growing and learning ahead, but he already has so many of the pieces in place. Now he just needs a family ready to keep building on them—and appreciate those ridiculously handsome ears and that serious-model stare.

Bringing home a new dog is exciting—but it’s important to remember that settling in takes time. 🐾

The 3/3/3 Rule is a helpful guideline for understanding what your new dog may be experiencing during those first days, weeks, and months in their new home.

In the beginning, your dog may be overwhelmed and unsure. As the weeks pass, routines start to make sense and more of their personality begins to appear. Over the following months, trust grows, relationships strengthen, and home truly starts to feel like home.

It isn’t a deadline, and every dog moves at their own pace. The most important things you can give them are patience, consistency, structure, and connection.

Give them the time and space they need to show you who they really are. 💚
