Faye’s story starts with someone putting her first. She came to us with her nine puppies, brought in by an owner who loved her enough to ask for help. Being houseless, they wanted something better for Faye and her babies. We said yes. Because that’s what BrightSide is here for.

Today, Faye has a warm bed, a temporary place to call home, and a chance to rest. Her puppies are all thriving in fosters and all will be spayed/neutered, so this family can move forward without another unexpected litter.

At BrightSide, stories like Faye’s aren’t rare.
They are our everyday. And helping animals and people through moments like this is only possible because of support from our community.

Tomorrow is the FINAL day of Central Oregon Gives, and we’ve set an ambitious $50,000 goal, and we could really use your help to hit it. If you’re able, please consider donating and help us keep saying yes to stories like Faye’s and her puppies.

Teddy was found as a stray and never reclaimed. When he first came to us, everything felt scary, especially being on a leash. He’s still learning, but he’s also incredibly sweet. Teddy would love a yard where he can run freely and feel safe, or a patient family who’s willing to keep working with him and celebrating the small wins. With the right people, he’s going to be such a good dog for a family!

Dogs like Teddy are why Central Oregon Gives matters. Caring for animals who need a little extra time and support doesn’t happen overnight, and it doesn’t happen without help. Central Oregon Gives ends December 31, and we still have a ways to go to reach our fundraising goal. These last few days truly matter.

The final week of incentives is here (and they’re really good ones), so every donation of $25 or more helps animals like Teddy and gives you a chance to win some amazing local prizes while helping us get closer to a $15,000 grand prize!

Holiday sleepover, anyone?😴

Fostering gives our shelter animals a break from the noise, a chance to decompress, a taste of what home feels like, and often making the difference between staying overlooked and finding a forever home.

As we head into the holiday week, we’re still looking for fosters willing to open their homes for a short 3–7 day holiday sleepover. You provide the love. We provide everything else.

New faces on the adoption floor this week!
Meet Pippin and Otis 💛

Pippin is keeping us guessing with his bright blue eye, long body, and adorably stubby legs. We may not know his exact mix, but we do know he’s 100% cute and on the hunt for a forever best friend.

Otis is, quite literally, the biggest love bug. At events he sticks close to his people and is fully convinced he’s destined to be a lifelong lap dog. At just 2 months old, though, he still has plenty of growing to do!

Santa came early this morning, and we unexpectedly welcomed 9 tiny pups! They are just a little too young for adoption and need about a week or so in a cozy foster home.

Our amazing foster families have been working overtime with puppies lately, so we’d love to bring in some new foster helpers! If you’re able to foster a pair of pups until they’re ready for homes, it would make a huge difference!
