Can we count on you as a new foster? 💛
We have four of the cutest puppies looking for temporary foster homes right now until they can have surgery and be seen by our vet. We also have adult cats who need foster homes, which is a little different for us! They don’t need a forever home right now, just somewhere they can relax, get some love and hang out outside of the shelter for a bit.

If you can foster, please reach out to us today or fill out our foster sign up below! Even if you have never fostered before, we would love to talk with you about what might be a good fit.

Tomorrow looks a little different at BrightSide!

We are starting off the day with a special staff and volunteer training, so our doors will be opening an hour later than usual. We’re excited to spend the morning learning, growing, and getting even better at what we do for the animals!

We hear it all the time… “I can’t volunteer at the shelter, I’d take all the pets home.” Or, “I can’t foster, I work too much.” And, “I can’t adopt, I travel.”

And you know what? Fair! We get it. We have busy lives, full homes, and travel plans that somehow always include our pets. BUT we have a way you can help without accidentally bringing home another pet…

Volunteer at our thrift store!

You don’t have to work directly with the animals to make a direct impact on their lives. Our thrift store provides crucial funding for the pets in our care, and we simply couldn’t keep it running without our volunteers. Even a few hours of your time each week helps so many pets in need!

If you’re looking for a dog who would make an amazing adventure buddy and an equally happy couch companion, we think Shadow would be your perfect dog!

This guy is about as easygoing as they come. He’s happy to go on an adventure, but also has been a really amazing office buddy. Shadow has gone on a few dog day outs recently and both times he came back with an A+ report card:

“This guy is great. He was super well behaved. Mellow in the car. He is friendly the second you meet him and is excited to be a part of any adventure. As we were sitting at steelhead falls he loves to sniff around and explore but wants to be by you and be able to see you at all times. When he’s ready to chill out he will lay by you and take all of the pets. He is one of the sweetest dogs I’ve ever met. If I was in the right space to adopt a dog he would come home with me in a heartbeat.”
