❤️🐕At 15 1/2, Sage is one of our sweet senior patients. Today was a big day for her and her mom (Georgetown VT, Rebecca). Sage finished her third and final round of radiation! Not a cure in this case, radiation therapy is being used as a palliative treatment for her osteosarcoma, a common form of bone cancer. Though Sage’s cancer is aggressive, there are ways to keep her comfortable as she lives out her life. In partnership with her oncologist Dr. Mahoney at MedVet (Norwalk) and Dr. Karten, part of the amazing radiation oncology team at ASC (Yonkers), we are finding ways to reduce her pain and even slow down progression of the disease. Sage has also been enrolled in a veterinary cancer vaccine trial through Yale University which has been found to slow down and even reduce bone tumors. The goal is simply to keep her comfortable, non-invasively, as long as possible. We’ll keep you updated.

At Georgetown Veterinary Hospital, Dr. Gamez often recommends Brutus Bone Broth packets as a kibble enhancer. Just sprinkle on the food and add a little water and watch your dog enjoy their meal. We also make pupcicles as a special distraction treat for dogs during exams or vaccinations. Thank you to Brutus Bone Broth founders Kim and Sue for supporting our business and sharing your amazing product with our clients and our staff.

We love your pets like our own.

Dr. Stanley Truffini started this business as a young Cornell educated veterinarian back in the late 70’s. Since then it has remained a practice of excellence serving our local Georgetown, CT community with an incredible staff and state of the art equipment. His partner and fellow Cornellian, Dr. Carol Gamez joined him in 2003 and together they have continued to practice high quality medicine in their beautiful hospital here in Georgetown, CT. Our wonderful associate Dr. Lindsay Rosenblitt compliments our mission to give our clients and their pets the best veterinary experience.
