Meet Onyx, an 11-year-old Schnoodle with a big personality and an even bigger voice! 🎤🐶 Whether he's letting everyone know it's time for a snack, announcing visitors, or just sharing his thoughts on the day, Onyx always has something to say.

When he's not chatting away, you'll usually find him enjoying his favorite things: tasty treats, fun toys, and exploring the great outdoors.

Adopted from Haven Humane as a youngster, Onyx has grown into a beloved member of his family's pack, proving that rescue pets truly make incredible lifelong companions.

🐾 Staff Pet Spotlight: Tobias! 🐾
Tobias was found as a stray nearly two years ago with almost no fur due to severe allergies. Thankfully, he found his way to his momma, who adopted him and gave him the home he deserved.
These days, Tobias has perfected his grumpy old man persona. He lives for food, sleeps whenever possible, and almost never barks — but he has plenty to say in the form of grumbles. 😂
He’s also a bit of a wanderer and an all-around character. Tobias strongly disapproves of cheek kisses, but reluctantly allows them from his momma, who loves him very much. ❤️
We think this handsome grumpy guy landed exactly where he belongs!

💊 Pet in Pain? Think Twice Before Reaching Into Your Medicine Cabinet!

Human pain medications are not automatically safe for pets. Common medications like ibuprofen (Advil/Motrin), naproxen (Aleve), and acetaminophen (Tylenol) can cause serious — and sometimes life-threatening — poisoning in dogs and cats.

Even a dose that seems small can lead to problems like stomach ulcers, kidney damage, liver damage, or other serious complications. Cats are especially sensitive to acetaminophen.

🐾 If your pet seems painful, call your veterinarian before giving ANY human pain medication. There are safe and effective pain medications made specifically for pets.

And if your pet accidentally gets into human medication, contact a veterinarian right away — don’t wait for symptoms to appear.

🐾 Staff Pet Spotlight: Meet Louie! 🐾

Louie is a handsome, lively boy with plenty of personality. He loves attention and isn’t shy about showing his affection — sometimes with a few well-placed “love bites.” 😹 He’s also quite the conversationalist and loves meowing almost as much as he loves chasing his toys.

One of the neatest things about Louie is how much his appearance has changed! He was mostly white when his momma first brought him home as a kitten, but his fur has continued to get darker as he’s gotten older.

Louie has a definite mischievous streak and likes to keep his family on their toes, but underneath it all, he’s a very good boy. ❤️

Happy National Black Cat Day!

Meet Moon, Redding Veterinary Clinic's official clinic cat, professional greeter, and full-time morale officer. She spends her days supervising the team, welcoming clients, and reminding everyone that black cats aren't bad luck—they're some of the sweetest companions you'll ever meet.

Today we're celebrating black cats everywhere and helping bust the old myths that still make them harder to adopt. If you're lucky enough to share your home with a black cat, we'd love to see them!

🐾 Staff Pet Spotlight: Meet Kiki! 🐾

Kiki is a sweet, gentle girl who can be a little timid when meeting new people or experiencing new things. She may take a little time to warm up, but she had no trouble stealing her momma’s heart!

Her idea of a perfect day is a quiet one, preferably spent relaxing in her cat tree and watching the world go by.

Kiki may be a black cat, but there’s absolutely nothing dark or unlucky about her — just a sweet kitty who is very loved. ❤️

🐾 Staff Pet Spotlight: Meet Izzie! 🐾

Izzie is a 6-year-old Pekingese/Tibetan Spaniel mix with a very big heart—and apparently a royal past. She is the sweetest girl and an expert emotional-support pup. If someone is upset, Izzie is quick to climb into their lap and offer comfort.

She also has a legendary side-eye that makes us suspect she may have been a ruler in a past life. We may merely be her peasants, but at least we are peasants worthy of her emotional support!
