😸 Featured Feline Friday 😸

Meet Granny Pants! Granny Pants is a beautiful senior long haired tabby with adorable facial markings and the sweetest disposition. She is very affectionate and would make a wonderful addition to a quiet home as an only pet.

We know that opening your home to a senior cat can feel intimidating. That’s why Mountain Cats would be open to offering a hospice foster arrangement for Granny Pants. You would provide her with a loving home and care for her day-to-day needs while we continue to support her veterinary and medical care.

If you’re interested in meeting Granny Pants, please fill out an application on our website.

THIS!!

If you are asking for TNR assistance from us (or any other volunteer group for that matter), please follow our volunteers' instructions. We only get one day a week to trap due to limited surgery slots, and we have a mile long waitlist. We have to make the most out of every opportunity. There are simply too many kittens being born outside to not. And we have done this hundreds of times, so we know what we are doing.

When we ask you not to feed on the trapping day and we show up and there is food, it's a hell to the no. Cats will NOT go in a trap if they aren't hungry. Plain and simple. They aren't going to be mad at you. They aren't going to starve. This is the biggest form of sabotage we deal with during TNR. Skipping one meal is often the difference between a cat being fixed the next day or not.

If we ask you to stay in the house and to be quiet when we arrive to trap, we mean it. These cats do not know us and aren't used to our presence or our voices. If we ask you to come to the trap to pretend to feed, we don't mean to dump food all over the trap. Also, we do not want you to scruff the cat or try to shove it in a trap. Let the trap do the work so no one is scratched or bitten, and so it's less stressful for the cat.

We are helping multiple people each week and juggling multiple TNR projects. When instructions aren't followed, it doesn't just affect one trapping effort. It impacts our volunteers, the people waiting behind you for assistance, and ultimately the cats we are trying to help.

Do you remember this sweet senior kitty who came to us last fall?

When Jenny first arrived at Mountain Cats, she was severely matted, missing several teeth, and clearly had a rough life behind her. Despite everything she had been through, she was incredibly affectionate and eager for love.

We’re happy to report that Jenny is now living her best life with one of our volunteers, who welcomed her as a hospice foster. After receiving much-needed dental surgery, Jenny began grooming herself again, and six months later, she looks like a brand-new cat!

She may not be as spry as a kitten, but she brings just as much joy to her foster family every day.

Outdoor cats often face difficult lives, and few are fortunate enough to reach their senior years. Jenny is one of the lucky ones—she’ll be spending her golden years surrounded by comfort, love, and plenty of pampering.

Sadly, senior cats can be harder to place in homes. If you’re considering adoption, please don’t overlook the older cats. They still have so much love to give, and can make the very best companions.

The vet may call them geriatric, but they’ll always be little babies! 🐱

😸 Featured Feline Friday 😸

Meet Charm! Charm is a stunning long-haired tortie with no shortage of personality. Her beauty may tempt you to scoop her up for a big hug, but Charm prefers to be admired on her own terms. True to her tortie nature, she knows exactly what she likes—and isn't shy about letting you know.

While Charm isn't generally the cuddly type, she does enjoy affection when approached respectfully and at her pace. When she's in the mood, she'll reward trusted humans with pets, attention, and glimpses of her softer side. When she's had enough, she'll make her boundaries clear.

Charm is looking for a patient, cat-savvy home that understands independent cats and appreciates them for who they are. She would likely do best as the only pet, where she can be the queen of her castle and receive the understanding and respect she deserves.

For the right person, earning Charm's trust will be a rewarding experience. If you're interested in meeting her, please fill out an adoption application on our website.

😸 Featured Feline Friday 😸

Meet Charlie! Charlie is a beautiful and unique 2–3-year-old calico. From the front, she looks like a tuxedo cat, but from the back, her calico colors steal the show—a true “business in the front, party in the back” kind of girl!

Charlie is sweet, affectionate, and just a little bit sassy. She’s been waiting patiently for her perfect match and would love to find her forever home.

If you’re interested in meeting Charlie, please fill out an adoption application on our website.
