Meet Jojo!

This bouncy bundle of joy is Jojo, a gorgeous Border Collie/Boxer mix (or so we suspect!) with a heart as big as her energy level. Jojo is happiest when she’s in motion—whether she’s playing chase with a canine buddy, going on adventures, or just zooming around the yard with a goofy grin on her face.

She’s social, affectionate, and always ready for fun. While Jojo has struggled with separation anxiety in the past, she’s done beautifully here at the rescue thanks to the companionship of her best dog friend. For that reason, we believe Jojo will thrive in a home with another large, friendly dog who can be her partner in crime—and her comfort.

If you’re looking for a playful, people-loving pup who’s ready to share a life of tail wags and togetherness, Jojo just might be your girl.

This summer, we're launching a hands-on teen internship right here at The Rescued Pup — designed for ages 14–18 who want to explore the real work behind rescue, training, grooming, and pet care.

💡 Learn how to:
✔️ Safely walk, feed, and care for dogs
✔️ Understand body language and stress signals
✔️ Use Fear Free techniques to build trust with nervous or shy dogs
✔️ Help with adoption prep, enrichment, and retail

📚 You'll gain real-world skills and experience — and you’ll be on your way to earning a Fear Free Certification, a nationally recognized animal-handling credential.

Walter had a meet and greet today - and they decided he wasn’t the dog for them - this is the reality when you have a rescue, some matches aren’t right. We aren’t mad at the people, and we aren’t sad, we are thankful that they didn’t feel obligated to take a dog that just didn’t feel right for them.

We have another family interested in Walter, so hopefully they will be the right fit….but until then…we will keep enjoying his company. ❤️🐾
