SPCA of Wake County - K9 Crew

To highlight dogs available for adoption at the SPCA of Wake County in Raleigh, NC - especially those that are long timers.

The K9 Crew, an initiative of the SPCA of Wake County's Behavior Team, is a group of trained volunteers that focus on highlighting some of the dogs who linger at the SPCA. The K9 Crew was first called the "Pit Crew" and originated to repair and rebuild the reputation of the American Pit Bull Terrier in our community. That work will continue as we move forward as the K9 Crew.

With his joyful smile, shiny coat, and those adorably alert ears, Orca is proof that black dogs are full of personality and heart. Sadly, black dogs are often overlooked in shelters, but today we shine a spotlight on how amazing they truly are.

Let Orca be your reminder: black dogs deserve just as much love, attention, and forever homes as any other pup. 🐶❤️

We can’t believe that 6-year-old Buddy is still looking for his forever home! This goofy, lovable, 95-pound bundle of joy is full of happiness, playfulness, and charm. Buddy is currently thriving in one of our fabulous foster homes, but he’s more than ready to meet his perfect forever family. ❤️

Loki is a bit on the shy side, but he is just a sweet and gentle dog looking for a forever cuddle buddy! 🐾

Reuben was transferred to us from Harnett County Animal Shelter, and now he’s dreaming of his forever home where he can shower his humans with endless love and loyalty. He’s truly the kind of dog who will brighten your days just by being himself. 🌟

Reuben has been diagnosed with heartworm disease, but don’t worry—he’ll begin treatment soon, and our adoption specialists can answer all your questions.
