Want to join our amazing team of volunteers?

Volunteering is a great way to get some barn time, work with an incredible group of participants who are working hard to reach milestones, create memories with fellow community members, and simply have a fun time! We also offer monthly continuing education opportunities for volunteers to learn and grow their skills!

All of our new volunteers are required to go through a 2-part training course. Part 1 includes a tour of our facility, a meet and greet with the horses, and discussion of our volunteer program roles and expectations. This first training is not a commitment to volunteering as this is a great way to see our facility and meet our staff to determine if this is where you would like to volunteer. Part 2 is more hands-on, and we discuss/practice leading expectations, sidewalking holds, grooming/tacking, and the various adaptive mounts/dismounts. You must also submit our volunteer packet and 3 background checks by the time you complete the Part 2 training. Our current volunteer opportunities are on Mondays-Fridays & Sunday mornings, with no minimum or maximum number of hours required each week. Some volunteers prefer to come at the same day and time each week, while others volunteer one hour a month at random as their schedule allows. If you are inactive for 6 months, you will be pulled from the volunteer list as it is important for our volunteers to stay up to date with our current herd and processes.

Our next round of volunteer trainings will be held as follows:
Part 1 - Saturday, February 15th from 10am-11:30am
Part 2 - Saturday, March 1st from 10am-12pm

Please reach out to Danielle at [email protected] if you would like to attend the trainings or be added to the list for future trainings! We'd love to have you join our team!

Happy Retirement Day, Tank!

While this is very bittersweet for us to see Tank retire, he has earned his retirement and then some! Tank came to us on August 23, 2023 as one of the "Original 3" program horses to launch Bridlepath Equine Center. During his time here, he has selflessly given 350 services hours to multiple participants in ways that have impacted their lives outside of their sessions. Here are just a handful of examples of the lasting impact Tank has had on his friends:

-A participant was able to graduate from Physical Therapy largely in part due to the physical benefits she received and continued to receive through riding Tank.
-A participant, who wouldn't even want to come into the barn when he first started sessions, soon learned courage, bravery, and confidence in new tasks through Tank's warm and patient demeanor. This participant now willingly walks into the barn, grooms & tacks independently, can lead his horse independently, and his riding his horse independently at the walk.
-A participant, who sometimes comes into her sessions feeling a sensory overload, quickly figured out that riding Tank ba****ck and feeling his steady breathing was an incredible tool to recenter herself by matching her breathing with his. This set her sessions up for better success, as well as the rest of her day's activities outside of the barn.

Thank you, Tank, for being a foundational piece of Bridlepath and our mission. You are worth your weight in gold, and we will always admire you with the deepest gratitude and appreciation! Thank you to Tank's owner, Christi F., for the opportunity to experience all that is "Tank", and for opening the door for participants to continue visiting him in his retirement - it is well deserved!

is just over 8 hours away!

Our final herd spotlight is Jasper! Jasper came to us about 2 months ago, and he is our youngest herd member at 8 years old. He is a Haflinger Cross gelding and is known around the barn for his bag of tricks (such as smiling)! Jasper has been slowly integrating into lessons as he transitions into his new job here at Bridlepath, and he is already becoming a favorite amongst some of our participants.

To support Jasper and his other pasture pals on ExtraGive Day TOMORROW, check out our site at https://www.extragive.org/organizations/bridlepath-equine-center

is 2 days away!

Say hi to Boss! He is a 13 year old Appaloosa gelding who came to Bridlepath early this summer. Boss has done well finding his groove in therapeutic horsemanship after a fun career in barrel racing. He has done exceptionally well with allowing our students who don't have full range of motion in their body to be more independent as he is very sensitive to subtle cues.

If you feel led, would you consider a donation on ExtraGive day to help support the cost of maintaining our program horses to keep them at their best, physically and mentally? Thank you in advance for your support! https://www.extragive.org/organizations/bridlepath-equine-center
