Did you know that OGVECC provides a variety of extracorporeal therapies, including hemodialysis, therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE), and hemoperfusion??

Fjell, who's name means mountain 🗻, found herself in need of TPE when her body produced an overzealous immune reaction, causing the self-destruction of her red blood cells 🩸. TPE treatment aids in the removal of the trouble making immune complexes from the blood stream, calming the destruction of cells, while immunosuppressive medications can reach their peak effect in the body.

Fjell was hospitalized with us for several days, during which she received multiple blood transfusions, 4 TPE sessions, and numerous other supportive care measures.

After 8 days, Fjell was discharged, and we are thrilled to report that her anemia is nearly completely resolved! We are wishing Fjell a lifetime of adventures! 🐶🏔️

Have you ever looked at your pet, and just known they were destined to do amazing things?! Well, this may be their chance! The OGVECC Community Blood Bank is searching for canine and feline heroes who are willing to answer the call! ♥️🐾

It is our mission to ensure that lifesaving blood products are available to our community pets when it matters the most! Our donors are a vital part of making this mission possible! 🩸

Each potential donor will have an examination and blood work screening at no charge. Donors who are accepted to our program will receive complimentary annual blood work, a toy 🧸 with every visit and one free transfusion for themselves or any pet in the household, should they find themselves in need.

Zeek is a head turner, a people pleaser and Mr. Steal Your Girl😏😘. Zeek came into the hospital for lethargy and a limp and left with several new girlfriends and likely a hidden pocket full of phone numbers!

Buddy may be a youngster, but he’s already up to shenanigans! When Buddy’s owner found him with a metal needle 🪡 in his mouth, she tried her best to get it back. Unfortunately, Buddy was able to hide the evidence quickly, by swallowing it. Thankfully, our doctors were able to retrieve it safely and minimally invasively, with the use of an endoscope. This spared Buddy from potential surgery, and his owner from a 72 hour p**p watch! 💩🫢
Buddy was a lucky boy, and made a full recovery. We are hopeful that he will grow out of his criminal tendencies, but we will be here whenever he needs to be bailed out! 👮‍♀️

Ms. Gemma came to visit with us yesterday, and stole some hearts in preparation for Valentines day! ♥️

Gemma had some recent diet changes that left her tummy in a most unfortunate state. Thankfully her symptoms didn't seem to slow her down. She was all wiggles and kisses for our staff!
