We have two more barn cats ready to be adopted and to get to work for you!

Meet Rowan and Moon, who are the newest additions to our "working cats" program, and are ready to be adopted to your farm, homestead, or garage as rodent hunters. These previously free-roaming cats have been spayed/neutered to prevent uncontrolled breeding, and are suited for living their best life as a working cat. And thanks to the support of Friends At Your Metro Animal Shelter and Pasados Spay Station, our barn cats are available at no charge to you!

Not sure if your property is a good fit for a working cat? Our adoption staff will work with you to ensure that the area you live in allows for barn cats and that you are able to provide safe shelter, as well as a dependable source of food and fresh water on your property.

**KITTEN CAM**

So thankful that this litter of kittens was brought into the shelter with their mama, so they can thrive while receive the very best care directly from her. Unfortunately we are being overwhelmed by people brining in newborn kittens without their mamas, and need to issue this important message if you have found kittens and are not sure what to do...

Please do not bring kittens to the shelter immediately after finding them. The shelter is currently overwhelmed with litters of very young kittens being brought in without their mamas, and it is impacting the safety of these kittens. Please call our staff first so we can help assess the situation and advise on what is best for the kittens.

In most cases, if you have found newborn or young kittens, please leave them alone! Mama cats are very protective of their kittens and rarely abandon them; if you don’t see the mama, they are probably close by their babies and will be back soon. Newborn kittens are especially vulnerable when separated from their mamas, and will struggle to survive without them.

Want to help our kittens?!? We are seeing unprecedented numbers of kittens being brought into our shelter. We urgently needs donations of non-clumping kitty litter, wet kitten food, and dry kitten food; donations can be dropped off or shipped directly to our shelter.
