So many awesome dogs and cats being adopted from our shelter this week - including our buddies Harmony, Finn, Pumba, Velvet, and Maggie! Thank you to our amazing community for supporting our shelter, helping us to control the pet population through adoption, and above all, loving on these sweet faces.

"Lions and tigers and bears - oh my!" Ok, so around here it's more like chickens and bunnies and kittens - oh my!

We have a ton of new pets that just came available for adoption at our shelter, including two chickens, two bunnies, and a bunch of super cute kittens. So whether you are looking to get a very first pet or another addition to your furry family, please come visit the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup.

When the temperatures hit the mid-90's at the shelter last week, we wanted our pups to a have an extra special treat to help stay cool. Plus we had a team member celebrating a birthday, so it was the perfect time for some doggie ice creams.

*PET OF THE WEEK - AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION*

I’m looking for a sunny porch and a comfy couch – you got one to share with me?

My name is Zahra, and my favorite things to do are lay in the sun and nuzzle into a soft spot. I spent most of my young life in a kennel all by myself, so I especially love to snuggle into the super comfy bed that the shelter staff gave me. We don’t have any couches at the shelter, but I have heard that they are fabulous!!!

I am very people-oriented, and it makes me so happy when anyone gives me attention, loves on me, and spends time with me. The shelter staff isn’t sure how I’ll do in a house with other dogs or cats, but so far, I seem pretty laid back while I make my rounds at the shelter. But when I get outside to play with the volunteers you should watch my zoomies – I’m so cute and so happy to have a person to play with!

So if you are looking for the perfect mix of snuggly, happy, mellow, and playful then I am the pup for you. Want to come meet me? I’m available for meet & greets at the Metro Animal Shelter in Puyallup on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays in the afternoon. I hope to be your family’s newest and best couch potato!
