When I first met Sadie, she was struggling in multiple ways:

Applying Netty’s leash skills in the real world!

Netty has been one of the strongest pullers I’ve ever worked with—and I say that with love! As one of my regular walking clients, I’ve had to balance just getting her out for exercise while managing her intense pulling.

About a month ago, Netty injured her shoulder from pulling too hard on a front-clip harness, which can happen when a determined dog keeps charging forward even with gear designed to help. Since then, she’s been on a break from walks and confined to the backyard while healing.

During that time, her mom and I focused on structured training instead—working on sit, stay, wait, leave it, heel, settle, and brain games to help channel her energy and build new habits.

Now that she’s cleared to walk again, we’ve spent the last two weeks (especially this past one) really reinforcing leash manners—and it’s paying off!

She’s not perfect (no dog is!), but her progress has been significant. What you’re seeing in this video is her transitioning from backyard training to applying those skills in the real world—an important training stage on its own.

With patience, consistency, and repetition, even the strongest pullers can learn to walk calmly on leash. Don’t give up—Netty is proof of that!

Hi Everyone our Puppy/Beginner class starting today @ 12:30pm has been pushed to start Next Saturday May 17th @ 12:15pm to try and get more sign ups!
