The light pink peonies are starting to open! And the darker pink are a sea of blooms.

The darker pink peonies are full on! A few of the lighter pink peonies have started to soften. We will be open today due to the overabundance of peonies that refuse to take Monday off. 😊

PEONIES!!

The darker pink peonies are beginning to open! If you can’t wait any longer to have peonies unfurling in your home, then now is the time to come out. You will want to choose the buds that are visibly opening their petals or search a bit for buds that are a little squishy (like a marshmallow) to ensure they will continue opening once they are cut. If you would prefer to be surrounded by blooming peonies and have thousands of options to pick from, then you will want to give it a few more days. We expect to have peonies fresh in the field for the next 7 to 10 days, depending on the heat. The light pink shade usually start blooming about 4 days after the darker pink.

Peony pricing...

Buds are $1 per stem and blooms are 50 cents per stem. We’re putting together a sign to clarify this a bit better. We’ll post it on site as well as take a picture to share with you here.

Peony Storage…

We have access to cold storage again this season and are happy to store quantities of 50 or more for you in our cold room for up to four weeks. This service is $10 regardless of quantity and duration because the cold room is 2 miles away. (: If you would like us to store them please talk with us in advance so we can share a bit of information about harvesting stage and storage for the best outcomes. If you have space, you can get the same results at home storing them at refrigerator temps. We will also be harvesting some to store, so let us know if you would like us to set some aside for you.

We are opening today! And typical Springtime fashion we have limited quantities of limited varieties. But we thought we would open for Memorial Day pickers!

Closing soon!!

We are expecting a hard freeze Thursday night and plan to close for the season on Friday.

Pumpkins
We have reached the point where it's a little embarrassing to have people arrive in search of pumpkins. Over the next few days we will be delivering the remaining edibles to food banks, donating the non-edibles to community events, and checking in with folks who expressed an interest in items from the gourd tunnel and photo booth.

Flowers
The very hardy varieties somehow still look nice. So if you would like one last bouquet for the season, today through Thursday looks to be your chance.

We are reaching the end of our pumpkin sale. The jack-o'-lantern pumpkins are sold out. We still have a lot of gourds, and about 100 specialty pumpkins in various colors that have been harvested. Most of them are on the small side.

Pumpkin Weekend #3!

Pumpkins, Dried flowers, Corns, Grains, etc.
Our stock of pumpkins and squash is dwindling so it seems likely we’ll wrap up the sale before the weekend ends. We still have a variety of pumpkins, squash and gourds, but in significantly smaller quantities. We still have lots of dried flower arrangements, 6 lavender and wheat wreaths, corn stalk bundles, wheat bundles and straw bales. Plus! Our decorative corn finally started to mature so we have some of that available this week. Pumpkin sale hours are 10am-6pm Friday through Sunday.

U-Pick Flowers
60 to 70% of our flowers have been frosted. The varieties that still look nice are the mums, snapdragons, phlox, statice, asters, scabiosa, veronica and calendula. There are also a few dahlias, zinnias and marigolds that were in a spot that spared them from the frost. We close the flower farm when darkness starts to set in this time of year. Currently that’s 6:15pm.

We still have LOTS of u-pick jack-o-lantern pumpkins in the field!

U-Pick FLowers
Tuesdays – Sundays 8am until dusk
We had a frost last Sunday night and again Wednesday night. We still have about half our flowers, but you will need to hunt around a bit more for the good ones.

Heirloom Tomatoes:
Friday 3-6pm & Saturday 10am – noon
