I’d like to introduce our newest training customer! This is Pilgrim. He was born on Thanksgiving in 2023 and has big shoes to fill. Pilgrim is in training to become a balance and psychiatric service dog. He will provide pressure therapy and emotional support as well as counter balance when his owner needs something sturdy to lean on or help getting up after a fall.
Hannah has taught Pilgrim specific commands that help with these tasks. He will also be visiting local stores and restaurants to help with public access in the future. If you see Hannah and Pilgrim out and about please refrain from calling to him and asking to pet him. He will be working and learning when he can and cannot visit with others.

For future bookings, please know that we will be closed August 13-18th for our trainer and full time employee, Hannah’s wedding! Max is still looking for a home!

‼️LOOKING FOR A HOME‼️
We would like to introduce you all to our friend Max. Max has been coming to Applewood since March of 2023. He is fixed and up-to-date on his vaccines. He did a one week program with Hannah back in 2023 and will be doing a few refreshers as well. His home life has changed and he is looking for a new place to call his own.
Max seems to like other dogs his size and bigger! He is still very puppy and a big player. Max is crate trained and almost never barks. He’d do best in a home with older children as he is a bull in a china shop. We believe he is a 2yr old boxer mix. He has a great appetite! Treats and fetch are the way to his heart ❤️ If you’re interested in Max and have any questions please feel free to reach out to us 🐾

If Sherry and Hannah didn’t both have 3 dogs, we’d both keep Max as he is the sweetest boy ever!!

The Association of Professional Dog Trainers established the month of January as National Train Your Dog Month to remind pet parents that to become well-behaved companions, dogs need socialization and schooling. Introducing obedience and tricks training into your daily routine with your pet is also a great way to celebrate the bond you two have.

If you're consistent, use well-timed rewards and praise, and lots of practice, you and your dog will be able to grow your bond immensely. There are also many qualified, professional dog trainers out there if you need a little education or reinforcement.
