PAHS needs your help! If you have any small plastic pet carriers, similar to the one pictured, that you no longer need please donate it to the shelter. We use these to transport our puppies, small dogs, cats, kittens for medical care and adoption events. We would gladly accept any that you have--used ones will be just fine as long as we can securely closed the door.

The PAHS cat and kitten rooms are temporarily closed meaning no cats or kittens are currently available for adoption. This is due to an upper respiratory infection that is highly contagious. We will let you know after everyone is treated with antibiotics and are ready for adoption. Again, the cat and kitten rooms at PAHS are closed until further notice. This does not affect dog and puppy adoptions--dogs and puppies are available for adoption.

Meet Momma Donna, the PAHS featured pet of the week. Momma Donna is a 3-year-old female Weimaraner, possibly mixed with Hound, who will be spayed before adoption. She arrived at PAHS after being found as a stray in the county, and it’s clear she’s been a “momma” several times in the past. When she first came in, she wasn’t in great shape, but under the care of the staff, she’s gained weight and become much healthier. With her shiny jet-black coat and super sweet personality, she’s as pretty on the inside as she is on the outside. Momma Donna loves to play and would be a wonderful companion for kids and other dogs. This affectionate girl truly deserves a fresh start with a loving family and a great home.

Dog/puppy adoption fees are $120. Cat/kitten adoption fees are $75. All pets will be spayed/neutered before adoption; or you will be given a discount spay/neuter certificate to be used at participating vet clinics to help with the cost of spay/neuter. Our adoption fees cover a microchip, microchip registration, deworming, vaccinations (as age and law requires), and a courtesy vet exam at participating offices. Unless otherwise indicated under 'special needs' our dogs have screened heart worm negative. *****Please note that PAHS does NOT do online adoption applications. You must come to the shelter in person to meet the PAHS pets.*****
