Meet us at the dog park on 6th street! We will be doing part of our usual dog let outs at 6th street dog park instead of at the shelter. The public can come on out and watch them play and interact with them! If we get a good turn-out this is something we can do monthly. You can send us a Facebook message during the schedule to see which dogs are outside as we will try our best to stick to the schedule, but things happen. Our dogs can get pretty protective of their play yard so we thought this would be a great time to let the public come see them in a neutral place and get the dogs somewhere new to play!

It is that time of year again when letting out our hyper pups turns into a game of not getting taken out by one of them (Hunter) and not stepping in one of their presents. We are here daily letting out dogs well past dark and are asking the community with some help in getting a few solar powered flood lights to light up the shelter, such as the one pictured below with a minimum of 2000 Lumens. We could use 4 to 5 and understand that this is a big ask of our amazing community! We are running at over capacity right now and going through quite a few medical cases which is keeping our budget pulled tight. Thank you for any and all help that can be given in helping keep staff and dog paws safe!

Meet Midnight!
This handsome 3-month-old boy is a professional cuddle bug with a whole lot of love to give! Midnight was found at a youth sporting event alongside his brother, Marble. Both boys showed obvious signs of being handled and loved since birth, and it certainly shows in their friendly, outgoing personalities!
Midnight isn't one to wait around for affection. He loves jumping right up on you and settling in for a good chest cuddle. He's a social, people-loving little guy who is happiest when he's close to his humans.
If you're looking for a kitten who will happily trade playtime for snuggles (and probably claim your chest as his favorite spot), Midnight is your guy!

Meet Marble!
This handsome 3-month-old boy is already winning hearts with his sweet, easygoing personality! Marble is the brother of Midnight, and the two were found together at a local sporting event. It's clear these boys have been loved and handled since birth, as they are incredibly social, friendly, and comfortable around people.
Marble is especially calm and collected for such a young guy. He's got a laid-back personality that makes him an absolute joy to be around! He does wonderfully with other cats and is tolerant of dogs, making him a great fit for just about any home.
If you're looking for a sweet little companion with a mellow personality, Marble might just be your guy!

Meet Opal!

At 2½ years old, this beautiful Rottweiler girl has already been through more than her fair share. Despite everything, Opal has held onto her sweet heart and is ready to find someone who will show her just how wonderful life can be. She warms up quickly to new people, although she can be a little fearful of men at first. With patience, slow introductions, and consistent visits, she learns to trust and let her personality shine.

Opal does great with her potty training and, when it comes to other dogs, just needs a little time to get comfortable. She would do best with a more submissive or neutral canine companion who will respect her space.

This girl has been waiting far too long for a place to call home. She doesn’t need a perfect family, just one willing to give her the patience, understanding, and unconditional love she deserves. Opal has so much love left to give, and we would love nothing more than to see her finally get her happily ever after.

The first week of November is National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week. I wanted to give a heartfelt thank you to all the moving parts that make our shelter and every shelter a success. This job is not for the weak, it is hard and it never stops and we never catch up. I have been here close to 4 years now and I have had the pleasure of working with some amazing people. We laugh in the good times, we push through the hard times, and we cry for the ones we lose that have no one but us. We show up every day no matter what and take care of living creatures that have no voice but the one we give them. I want to sincerely thank my current team leads, Kenzie and Jaylen for showing up and being right at my side making the shelter the best we can. I want to say thank you to my kennel technicians, Mylee and Alayna and to all our wonderful volunteers. Let's keep going and continue to make a difference!

Are you 16 and older with a passion for walking as well as for dogs! 😆 Well we are launching a dog walking volunteer program and would love to have you walk some of our dogs! You can fill out the dog walking volunteer form on our website under the tab " Applications" as well as your desired availability. We will be taking applications in this week and are will then set up a weekly schedule to get our dogs walked. Please be patient with some of our animals that are still being leash trained as well as some of our dogs with more restrictions. We will be working as quickly as we can to get a schedule worked up! Manager Monday! I want to start off by saying a big thank you to everyone who came out Friday to the Police Station for our Halloween event. Dispatch and the Sheriff's department were so kind and really made the event a success! It was so nice to see so many of our supporters and adopters even in the cold rain. Now, let's talk adoptions! We had Reece, Dart, PeeWee, and after much wait, we finally had River and his mom Lola go to their forever homes. Seeing River and Lola go to their homes was so rewarding and a bit of a punch to the gut as we have been on this journey with them for so long. We are thankful so many of our adopters share life updates and pictures with us so often. Keep an eye on our page as we have quite a few new faces that will be ready for adoption soon!

Meet Herbert!

At 4 years old, Herbert may look like an old soul, but don’t let that fool you, he’s got the heart of a puppy! This quirky, lovable gentleman still has plenty of life, personality, and love to share. He enjoys playing in water, isn’t shy about letting his voice be heard when excitement strikes, and has a serious appreciation for the finer things in life… namely, cozy beds and fluffy comforters.

Herbert is a silly, affectionate guy who knows how to enjoy the little things. He’s got a whole lot of love left to give and is ready to find someone who will appreciate his one-of-a-kind personality. Could Herbert be your new best friend?
