Pratt Area Humane Society

Pratt Area Humane Society PAHS is a non-profit organization dedicated to the welfare of stray and homeless pets. "Saving Lives one adoption at a time.." We take all kinds of donations.

Pratt Area Humane Society is a 501(c) non-profit organization. We strive to help pets find their furever homes! We are always looking for volunteers and fosters (call or Facebook message the shelter for more information.) We do have an Amazon wishlist and General wishlist, that is updated often. Remember no donation is too small! We are a fairly small shelter looking to make a huge impact on Pratt

county! We have lots of great animals for adoption. Come out, fill out an application and meet the newest addition to your family! Our Hours:
Closed: Saturday, Sunday and Thursday. Operation hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. 10:30am-12:30pm, 2:30pm-5:30pm

This season has produced an abundance of ALL kinds of babies. We have had numerous calls about WILDLIFE babies: Raccoons and Opossums.
I have to make this clear to everyone so that there is no confusion.
WE CANNOT TAKE IN WILDLIFE. We do not have a licensed wildlife rehabber on our staff. It is against the law to keep any wildlife you stumble across.
You may be wondering what to do if you find a baby that might need assistance. The website I shared below is a trusted website that has a ton of information. They can help you get in contact with a wildlife rehabber. The website also has a list of do's and don'ts for an animal you may run across.
I know we all want to help these babies but sometimes doing what we think is helpful can actually cause death for these little ones. The #1 thing you can do after you have confirmed it is an actual orphan is to provide safety by means of somewhere dark like a box or laundry basket over the animal until a rehabber can be called. Place a sheet or blanket over the basket. A licensed rehabber can guide you through the process. Do not pick up wildlife or try to feed it. You can call Operation Wildlife and they can give you lists of rehabbers in our area.

Pratt Area Humane Society would love to extend a congratulations to Kenzie Piland on her high school graduation! She has been working at our shelter for a year now and has accomplished so many things in such a short time! Kenzie is amazing with all the animals, hard working and extremely dedicated to anything she sets her mind to. We can already see that she has such a bright future ahead of herself and we are thankful to be apart of that journey!
Congratulations Kenzie! We hope to continue watching you grow and accomplish all your dreams!
