Team Creek had a blast at EI horse trials. I suck at getting photos but some highlights are….

Hazel turned 18 and completed her first prelim (whoop, Whoop!) finishing 4th

Sydney completed her first ever horse trials finishing 9th in the open starter.

Logan completed her first ever BN and won it! Way to smash it kid.

Summer competed her (first) horse BN this weekend and brought home 4th even though they just started getting to know each other in late July.

Mila put in 2 double clear rounds on Fiddy in his first completed beginner Novice for 8th place.

Kayla Hammond who joined us for the weekend with her sister Kelsey got a champ qualify weekend and finished in 2nd place in the open starter.

Unfortunately Archie and Miles horse Cooper got big legs after dressage and had to scratch.

Fanta and I got a 32 in dressage which we were pretty smitten with and then added a tad of time to the clock finishing our weekend on a 35 for 8th place.

What a great show!

These girls had quite the adventure today. They headed off to Bow for their C2 eventing ratings. Had the 7am ferry cancel,Axel broke on their trailer, hitched a ride with Kayla Hammond the last 20 miles to the rating. Showed up fashionably late… but still managed to keep their heads in the game long enough to earn their C2 certifications. Way to go Hope Topham and Tabitha Martell 🎉

Also a special shout out to the amazing horses & ponies that get these ratings done. Without them these carts wouldn’t be possible.

Lyrical Lightning is a 13.3hh 3/4 Connemara 1/4 TB who is 22 years young and a former intermediate legend owned by Tanya Thompson (brought from Isabel & Stacey Sturgess when Isabel outgrew her)

My Red Maserati who is a 17hh 18yo OTTB with show miles through Training and also owned by Tanya Thompson.

So proud of this pair! They plan to make the move to prelim this following weekend but they have had a great modified campaign this season. Currently Hazel Gardner & Locke and Key are ranked 6th in USEA modified Junior and 5th in the Modified IEL rankings. 🎉

I said it before and I’ll say it again…. This weekend was one for the history books at Gamble Creek Stables Pony Club Riding Center. I didn’t want to jinx our C3 but now that the certification is complete I can post about them as well.

We brought forward five national candidates and I am beyond proud to announce that all five passed:
⭐ 1 A Eventing (Alyssa Fellows)
⭐ 1 B Eventing (Hazel Gardner)
⭐ 3 C3 Eventing (Freya, Isabel, Sunday)

Today we celebrate our three newest C3 Eventing members!

💙 Freya McMullen joined GCS in 2022 as an unrated 14-year-old. Now 17, she has grown into a confident horsewoman and earned her C3 Eventing riding Cabana Boy, generously owned by Kathrine Parker.

💙 Isabel Tracey was the very first GCS member (outside of my own daughter). She first came to Gamble Creek as a 9-year-old looking for hunter/jumper lessons, and in many ways helped inspire the creation of our Pony Club Riding Center. Watching her grow into a knowledgeable young horsewoman and earn her C3 alongside her own 8-year-old Connemara gelding, Coyote Coulee, has been incredibly special.

💙 Sunday Martell joined GCS in August 2023 as a D1 member. Almost exactly three years later, she has earned her first national rating—C3 Eventing. Sunday completed the flat phase aboard Rioga, owned by Gamble Creek Stables, and the jumping phases aboard Taku (“Magic”), generously owned by Nora Topham. What an incredible testament to her determination, adaptability, and commitment to learning.

National ratings are about so much more than riding. They ask our members to be vulnerable, to accept constructive criticism, to problem solve under pressure, and to risk failure in pursuit of growth. Those are skills that will carry them far beyond horses—into job interviews, college, careers, and life’s inevitable challenges.

To every one of our candidates: thank you for trusting the process, embracing the hard work, and never giving up. You have represented Gamble Creek Stables, your horses, your families, and Pony Club with professionalism and heart.

Congratulations to all five of our successful candidates. You have made Team Creek incredibly proud. 💙💚

A Historic Day for Gamble Creek Stables Pony Club Riding Center 💙🐴

Today is a day I’ll never forget.

Please help me congratulate Alyssa Ryan Fellows on earning her US Pony Club A Eventing Certification and Hazel Gardner on earning her US Pony Club B Eventing Certification!

✨ Alyssa is the first rider to earn an A Eventing Certification through Gamble Creek Stables Pony Club Riding Center and the first A Eventing graduate in the Pacific Northwest in many years.

At 33 years old, Alyssa is a wife, mother of two young children, and a mental health therapist. With the unwavering support of her husband and family, she committed herself to this goal while balancing work and motherhood. A Pony Clubber as a child, she earned her B at 16, HA at 17, rejoined Pony Club in 2025, and set her sights on finishing what she started by earning her A. Her dream is to one day combine her passions for mental health and horses to help youth through equine-assisted therapy.

“You are an ‘A’ in every sense of the word and will be a great asset to USPC.”

✨ Hazel earned her B Eventing Certification at just 17 years old. She began riding at Gamble Creek Stables in 2023 and, after a little convincing, decided to give Pony Club another chance. In only three years she has progressed from D2 to B, a testament to her incredible work ethic, dedication to her horse, and passion for the sport of eventing. And knowing Hazel… HA is next.

As their coach, I couldn’t be prouder. I know Emily Sorensen, Linda Chatfield & Christine Headley who also helped them prep are beaming as well!

These two dedicated their entire summer to preparing for this weekend, often spending 12+ hour days at the barn studying, riding, teaching, conditioning horses, and refining every detail. They didn’t just train to pass a certification—they worked to become better horsemen, leaders, and ambassadors for our region.

Watching them achieve these milestones has been one of the greatest privileges of my career. Their success is a reminder that extraordinary accomplishments are built through consistency, resilience, and countless hours of hard work.

Congratulations, Alyssa and Hazel. You have made Team Creek history, and you’ve inspired every rider who will follow in your footsteps.
