🌞🐴 July Horse Camp Recap! 🐴🌞

What an amazing week we had at horse camp last week! 💫 The kids had a blast riding 🐎, learning horsemanship skills 🧼🧽🪥, and getting creative with fun crafts 🎨✂️✨. We loved seeing their confidence grow and the smiles on their faces as they made new friends—both human and equine! 🐴💕

🐴💞 New Friendship Alert! 💞🐴

Two of our lesson horses, Scout and Pretzel have officially moved in together—and it's already looking like a perfect match

Ruel Johnson, our thoughtful barn owner, had the idea that both of these sweet souls might benefit from some company… and it turns out, she was absolutely right. 🐴💕

We decided to let them try living together—and within no time, they were grooming each other like lifelong friends. 😍

What a great day for the Blue Heron crew!

Rubicon and Amelia Wakefield started us off with 3 5ths in her second ever children’s pony eq with really consistent rounds.

Marissa Pickering and Fijntastic News rocked the 3’ eq with a 3rd, 4th, and 5th. So pleased with how settled and consistent Conejo is getting!

Piper Wain-Faulk and Goose killed it in the 1.0 speed class placing 4th out of 17!

Avery Boss and Wishing well had lovely smooth short stirrup pony rounds winning three 3rds!

Cashmere and Teri Aguirre placed 3rd in a large open hunter class yesterday and placed 4th in their long stirrup hunter today!

Perla and Laurelin Lloyd had great rounds in the 2’6 and Laurelin piloted Lacey beautifully in her first derby!

So proud of our horses and everyone’s riding!

🌞 Some days are just too nice to stay in the arena!

Yesterday, two of our beginner lesson riders at Blue Heron Equestrian Center got a special treat—Georgia and Boo took them out on a trail ride during their lesson! 🐴💙

While most days are spent working hard and building skills, every now and then we trade circles and transitions for sunshine, fresh air, and a little adventure. The horses loved stretching their legs outside the arena (and sneaking a few bites of grass along the way 😄).

It’s all part of the magic of learning to ride—confidence, connection, and a whole lot of fun.

🌟 Lesson Horse Spotlight: Georgia 🌟

Meet Georgia – the queen of our beginner ponies and a barn favorite! 👑🐴

With her fancy trot and wise old-soul eyes, Georgia is more than just a pretty face – she’s a teacher in a pony’s body. In her younger days, she was an accomplished show pony, dazzling judges and trotting away with ribbons. Now, she shines just as brightly helping young riders find their confidence in the saddle.

Georgia doesn’t give anything away for free – she makes you ask the right way. And that’s what makes her the best kind of teacher. She encourages learning by doing, rewarding clear cues and patient practice. 💗

She’s also a total grooming diva – if you’re brushing her, she’s your best friend. 🩷 No one in the barn loves being pampered more than Georgia!

This sweet, sassy, smart pony has been loved by so many riders over the years, and she’s still earning hearts one ride at a time. We’re so lucky to have her! 🥰
