❤️ IN LOVING MEMORY OF AVA ❤️
With words from her family...
Ava was rescued with her older sister Paisley over 7 yrs ago from a backyard breeder in Idaho. She was then raised on a farm with goats, horses, and chickens which allowed her to flourish into the brightest silliest little cattle dog with great herding instincts.
She will be missed 🐾🌈💜

✨Introducing Our Featured Golden Patient of the Month - Din Din! 🐈‍⬛❤️✨

Over the years, Din Din has faced several health challenges, including hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), kidney stones, and a urethral obstruction that ultimately resulted in a perineal urethrostomy.

Many families are surprised to learn that cats with heart disease, urinary tract conditions, and other chronic illnesses can often continue to thrive with individualized medical care and regular monitoring.

Dr. Freed is honored to help families navigate these diagnoses and support pets and their families in the comfort of their own homes. 🐾🏠💛

His family shared their experience and Din Din's story in their own words...❤️

"We first saw Din Din on a free kitten poster in a bar in Upstate NY! He was part of the family since the car ride home as he fell asleep in my lap! In 2020 he started having urinary issues and by 2022 had kidney stones. This led to major surgery and we knew we needed a vet that catered to senior pets in our home. Dr. Freed was highly recommended by our neighbor. Din Din welcomed her into our home, and she has taken such great care of him. We can't say enough about Dr. Freed!"

Thank you to Din Din's family for trusting us with his care and for sharing his story. Dr. Freed is truly honored to be part of Din Din's journey. ❤️🐾

❤️ IN LOVING MEMORY OF EDGAR ❤️
With words from his family...
Edgar was a puppy at heart from the day we got him at 7 weeks old to his last day at 9 years old. He loves smelling flowers and candles, everybody he meets but especially children, all the little creatures, full body snuggles, and running and rough-housing with his brother. He loves prancing on his leash so everyone compliments him on how handsome he is and still sleeps wrapped in my arms like a baby. If being the best dog a girl could ask for equaled to years lived, he should have lived forever. Even now when I’m not ready to let him go, he continues to try and comfort me. “I will endure a lifetime of missing you for the privilege of getting to love you for all of yours”. I love you, my good boy. 🐾🌈💜

🗣️ We need your help! 🐾💜

We’re excited to share an important step forward for veterinary hospice and palliative care.

The AVMA American Board of Veterinary Specialties (ABVS) is currently seeking public comment on the recognition of the American College of Veterinary Hospice and Palliative Medicine (ACVHPM) as an official veterinary specialty organization.

This field focuses on comfort care, quality of life, pain management, and compassionate end-of-life support for pets and their families — an area Dr. Freed is deeply passionate about and dedicated to every day through her work with senior pets and hospice care.

For Dr. Freed, this is more than just veterinary medicine — it is truly her life’s calling. 💜 She would deeply appreciate your support as this specialty works toward official recognition.

Recognition of this specialty would help further advance education, standards of care, and support for families navigating difficult decisions with their beloved pets.

If you believe in the importance of compassionate end-of-life care for pets, we encourage you to take a moment to share your support through the public comment process. 💜

The comment deadline is August 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. Click on the post below and follow the prompts to submit yours.

THANK YOU! ❤️🐾🐱🐶

❤️ IN LOVING MEMORY OF WILSON ❤️
With words from his family...
Wilson truly was a cat with 9 lives but I think he used a few before he got to me. I'm not sure how he got to the SPCA from the streets but once there, this handsome tabby with big round eyes thought he might be safe- until he tested positive for FIV. The SPCA typically euthanizes FIV positive cats but a phone call to a local cat rescue already overwhelmed- but known to save FIVS- saved Wilson's life one more time. There, Wilson was stressed living in a cage most of the time and when he was allowed out he fought with the other cats. Then covid hit and cat adoptions dropped for the rescue. Wilson sat in his cage 6 months alone. Then my phone rang. She knew my last cat passed away and for the first time in 40 years or more I was catless and I wanted it to stay that way. No more crying, no more pain when they suffered then left. "Just a couple weeks" she said, "till we can show him . We have no space"
That first night Wilson came up the stairs jumped on the bed and slept there every night until recently. The little lump I found on his neck was there from the beginning. No one was concerned until it grew. A rare cancer in cats I was told, so there isn't much known after we removed it and I told Wilson one more life! He got another year and he's out of years now. It's time to cross the rainbow bridge, run free , run far, I'll catch up Wilson. No cage, no pain. Finally peace my angel. 💜 🐾🌈
