Bentley and I shared 11 unforgettable years together.
A local rescue pulled him from ACCT Philadelphia, and from the moment I met him, his striking good looks and lovable stupidity completely won me over. Some days he had me laughing until I cried, other days he had me shaking my head in complete disbelief, and every day he reminded me that the biggest hearts sometimes come in the goofiest packages. His "sister," who passed away almost a year before him to the day, spent years tolerating his antics. I'd like to think she's already rolling her eyes because he's back to annoying her again. Somehow, that thought brings me a little comfort. My heart is broken, but loving you for the past 11 years was one of the greatest gifts. I love you, Ben Ben. Thank you for every laugh, every memory, and every ounce of unconditional love. 💜🐾🌈

Nike was handed to me from the back of a van in the parking lot of a post office as a tiny, squeaky puppy with full white socks!...and was not the puppy I was actually supposed to get through the rescue. She continued to be full of surprises and adventure for the rest of her life.
She had some serious attitude and was too smart for her own good. She loved hiking, giving an "ah woo woo!" when excited, being a menace to wildlife (she fought a hawk for a squirrel after she had gone blind and still won), sunning herself in her 'crunchy spot' of dirt in the yard and getting snacks - but most of all she loved her sister Mya.
We loved her with all our hearts and will miss her forever. 💜🐾🌈

Rocket Man, aka “Rocky,” continues to prove that growing older doesn’t mean you have to stop enjoying the things you love. At 15 years old, Rocky experiences chronic pain, arthritis, spinal disease, and related mobility challenges - but he certainly hasn’t let them stop him from living his best life!

Through a personalized palliative care plan, Dr. Freed has helped manage Rocky’s symptoms so that he can remain as comfortable, mobile, and engaged as possible. 🐾

Rocky’s family shared his story and their experience in their own words...❤️

“Rocket Man ‘Rocky’ is a 15-year-old dachshund/corgi mix rescued from Kalamazoo, Michigan. Despite spinal pain, leg weakness, and having no teeth, Rocky is living his best life. Dr. Freed developed a pain management program for him, and the change in his demeanor and appetite since then has been remarkable. Rocky loves his big brother Apollo, scrambled eggs, and barking at nothing.”
