Happy Juneteenth!

Today, June 19th, our hospital will be closed to commemorate the holiday.

Juneteenth (also known as freedom day) is a federal holiday that celebrates the formal end to slavery in the United States.

A day of recognition, restoration, and a celebration of freedom!

It's barbecue season! 🌭
Having a backyard barbecue is always a good time but don't forget to think about your pet's safety.

Things like skewers, hot grills, corn on the cob, onions and garlic are all dangers to your dog.
If you know your dog is one to take advantage of a yummy opportunity, consider keeping them inside or away from the party for a bit. While onions and garlic are considered toxic, corn on the cob and skewers can become a foreign body requiring surgical removal. Be sure to secure all trash safely out of reach.

On a warm day, having access to water and shade is very important. If you are busy at the grill, designate someone to keep an eye on your pet to make sure they aren't overheating. Although it may not be too hot out for you, it may be too hot for them. ☀️

If your pet seems to be exhibiting any signs of heat stroke, such as weakness, tremors or vomiting/diarrhea or you believe they have ingested something they shouldn't have, seek medical care immediately.

Found dog!

This little lady was found on Old Airport Road, near Rosecliff, last night around 5:30pm. She appears to be a dachshund mix. No microchip was found when scanned.
