Even thick-coated breeds like Huskies or Malamutes, who are built for colder climates, can still feel the effects of extreme cold. For dogs with short coats or smaller breeds, consider investing in a warm sweater or dog coat.

Also, don't forget to protect your dog’s feet with booties, and make sure they fit properly to avoid discomfort.

Elle has been coming to see us since April of 2024 for social visits, after having had negative experiences at her previous vet. When she came in the first time she didn’t want to enter the building, and was very nervous the whole time. Now she starts whining with anticipation as soon as the car starts driving our way, and drags her dad into the building. She will choose playing ball over treats, but will accept treats during simulated physical exam.

Using cooperative care and gentle approach/touch gradient techniques, she has learned to accept physical exam and medical equipment, and is rewarded with treats and play.
