Happy December! Winter weather is fast approaching, which is perfect for our next Featured Friend who loves to frolic in the snow! Meet Potato, a 7-year-old mixed breed. We can’t wait to tell you all about him!

Potato is such a well-trained boy! Mom says he has “solid gold recall”, and when he’s off leash he always stays close to the trail. Which is great because he loves to wander around Chebeague Island to get all the best sniffs!

When asked, his mom had this to say: “He's a big feelings dog, and we've been working with a local women-owned training group to help him understand how to be neutral. He's now a great bar dog and protest dog and I just want to shout out Emma and Ivy at Intentional Animalship for their excellent dog stewardship.” Well, we can vouch that Potato is a shining example of their work!

Mom isn’t quite sure what mix Potato is, but she’s pretty sure at least half Boxer. The other half? Pit bull? Beagle? Shepherd? Who knows! With his behaviors, mom is convinced there are some working breeds in there. We’ll have to talk her into a DNA test some day to get the answers.

Potato, AKA Poe-Tate, Tater, Ding Ding absolutely loves to play! Especially with anything he can play tug with or destroy. Mom says he can destroy pretty much any ball within 5 minutes with the singular exception of RuffDawg rubber balls.

Of course, when he’s not walking the trails and playing tug with mom, he loves coming to Roscoe’s! Any time mom says “Wanna go to Roscoe’s?” he immediately start spinning! Potato definitely has a lot of human friends at Roscoe’s, where he loves to soak up the attention of everyone who sees him.

We can’t wait to spend many more days romping in the snow with this sweet Potato!
