Welcome to The Bark Yard, Beau! Not only is he stunning and a total lovebug, but he’s already showing off how smart he is — making incredible progress in his training in no time!

Congratulations to our Dog of the Week, Henry!

Henry is our sweet and oh-so-handsome bloodhound! With his goofy personality and big heart, he’s become a favorite buddy for our wild puppies and solo dogs alike 🐶✨

Henry’s idea of a perfect day? Splashing around in the kiddie pools, rolling around like the playful nut he is, and soaking up all the love from people.

He’s the definition of happy, derpy, and full of life — and we wouldn’t have it any other way 🥰

🚨 We’re looking for our next leader! 🚨

The Bark Yard in South Portland is on the hunt for a full-time Assistant General Manager — someone who can keep our busy doggy daycare, boarding, and training facility running like a well-oiled (and tail-wagging) machine. 🐶

This isn’t a “sit in the office all day” kind of role. You’ll be:

🐾 Leading our amazing team and keeping spirits high
🐾 Making sure every dog has a safe, happy, enrichment-filled day
🐾 Handling schedules, solving problems, and keeping things moving
🐾 Being the go-to person for both staff and clients

We need someone who’s:

✔ Organized and quick on their feet
✔ Experienced in management (pet care or hospitality a plus!)
✔ A great communicator who loves people and pups
✔ Ready to jump in wherever they’re needed

💵 $22/hour to start + PTO, health insurance, 401(k), discounts on doggy daycare, boarding, and training and snacks/lunch/dog kisses every shift.

Kat has been with The Bark Yard for 6 months as our Enrichment Team Lead + Kennel Crew -- and we are so thankful to have her.

Her favorite part of the day? Seeing all the wagging tails and happy faces arrive for daycare 💙

She can’t pick just one daycare BFF, but pups like Poppy Meyers, Bette, Nora, and Junie definitely have her heart.

Kat’s advice for dog owners: Every dog has their own way of communicating with us. So wise and VERY important to remember!

At home, she’s a proud cat mom to Ash, Shiro, and Milim — with plans to add a pup to the crew soon 🐱🐱🐶🐱
