In October 2026, a Welsh Corgi named Dango became an unexpected viral star in Thailand after a chance encounter with police officers. Dango was out for a walk with his owner when they came across the officers. The friendly dog walked right up to say hello. That is when the owner spotted the officer's handcuffs and had an idea. They asked if they could borrow them for a quick photo. The officer said yes.

The owner carefully placed the handcuffs on Dango's leg. What happened next was not the playful, bouncy reaction you might expect from a dog. According to local reports, Dango let out a deep sigh. He stiffened his body. He refused to move even a single step. He looked exactly like a suspect who had been caught and had simply accepted his fate.

The owner snapped photos and videos of the moment and posted them online, asking the internet a simple question: what crime should Dango be charged with? The responses poured in, and they were exactly what you would hope for. People suggested he was guilty of being too loved or of the serious offense of being too cute.

They were never “just a pet.”
