Golden Bond Retriever Rescue

Golden Bond Retriever Rescue Goldens in need of new homes come from a variety of circumstances. Some of our dogs have not had a loving family in the past, but many have.

Golden Bond Retriever Rescue is an all volunteer run, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers and Retriever mixes. Some come to us due to compelling family situations such as death, divorce, family illness, relocation or economic hardship. Other Goldens are released to rescue because of behavior problems due to lack of exercise and poor un

derstanding of the needs of the breed. Like many rescue organizations, we offer the benefits of being able to provide dogs who are already spayed or neutered, who have had a sound fundamental health examination, and whose temperament is fairly well known (since they have all lived with our foster families). Some may have behavioral problems, but many do not. And some need special medical care, just as most any dog will eventually. Many of our dogs need some level of training. All of our dogs need significant amounts of time, attention, patience, and love to adjust to their forever homes. Golden Bond Rescue is a resource for people who would like to give Golden Retrievers (or dogs that are mostly Golden) a second chance in life.

🐾 ❤️ Sam 4233 is ready to look for his forever home!!!! ❤️🐾

In the last two months 2-year-old Sam's confidence in meeting people and other dogs on walks has changed significantly. He's much more confident, less afraid, and in most cases his reactive behavior (barking) is now more like normal excited dog behavior with his trying to say hello and meet new friends. We still caution people to not rush Sam; let him come to them first if possible. Once he's sniffed and nudged a hand, they can pet him.

Sam still struggles with people coming into his home. He is getting better, but this is still a work in progress. He's not been in a home yet where there are a lot of people and activity, so he's not been exposed enough to learn how regulate those feelings. He'll get there; he just needs people willing to help him adjust to their lifestyle. Don't let his shaky start fool you—Sam is a total sweetheart with zero malice in his body!

Sam deserves a home of his own. Might it be yours? Sam is being fostered in the Eugene, OR area.

Introducing Bear 4503! This big handsome, cuddly, water-loving golden/lab is ready to find his forever home. Bear is a 5-year-old neutered male who is big fella currently on a weight loss journey. He checks in at 108 lbs and the vet says he needs to shoot for about 90 lbs. The good news is he's active, likes to play ball, take walks, play with other dogs and LOVES to swim, so losing those pounds shouldn't be too hard. He does pretty well on leash with a harness; he is strong and can pull if something grabs his attention. He could use some continued training with this but overall is ok. He is good with other dogs and in his current foster home, there is a dog savvy cat, and he has adjusted well. He is house trained and can be left alone, although probably not all day because he likes his humans. One of the only 'negative' things about Bear is that he isn't a huge fan of baths or having his feet touched. He can get baths in the river, but some tricks and a little work might help with this. He also loves car rides and adventures.

Bear is the sweetest boy who is just looking for his forever home with humans to bond with.

Golden Retriever? Nope.
Labrador Retriever? Maybe a little.
A dog in desperate need? BIG TIME!

Meet Boone #4512, a local dog who desperately needed our help.

We were contacted by social workers who discovered three dogs and more than 40 cats living in deplorable and chaotic conditions. One social worker said it was among the worst situations they had seen in a long time.

Of the three dogs—who have all now been placed with rescues—Boone was in the worst shape. It was clear he had been suffering from a painful skin condition for quite some time, so we rushed to his aid.

We were incredibly fortunate to place Boone with a foster who is a veterinary dermatologist. He is now receiving the specialized medical care he so desperately needs.

Boone has a long road ahead, but he is finally safe, loved, and getting the care he deserves. ❤️

Stay tuned for updates on this very special boy!

Eli and Bay arrived from South Korea yesterday and are both doing well. Bay has already been matched to a lucky family, but Eli is in foster care and will be available after he's settled in, completed his vetting and when the foster knows where he'll do best. Stay tuned for updates.

Thanks to our Korea Rescue partner, our International Team of Mel, Rachel, Vanessa and David who worked hard to bring these dogs over, our airport team- Maddy, Steve, June and Dorothy, and Eli's foster and Bay's adoptive family for getting the dogs back to their homes.

✈️🐾❤️💙 IT TAKES A VILLAGE 💙❤️🐾✈️

We're always looking for people to assist at the airport. Please let us know if that might be something you'd be interested in doing. It's a rewarding way to help; one of the volunteers recently said "I can't believe how emotional I was greeting these precious puppies."

🐾 Sydney has spent the last several years saying goodbye. We're looking for the family who can finally say, "Welcome home." ❤️

🐾 Through no fault of her own, 8-year-old Sydney has had to start over far too many times. She lost her beloved papa after he was the victim of a random assault, then lost her second dad after he suffered a stroke and could no longer care for her. Eventually, Sydney spent nearly three months in boarding before finding her way to Golden Bond.

🐾 Today, she's thriving in foster care and showing us exactly who she is: 50% adventure buddy, 50% professional napper, and 100% convinced she's in charge.

🐾 River days, beach trips, camping, Chuckit, and anything involving water are Sydney's idea of a perfect day. She's equally committed to long naps, gardening, happy hour, sleeping in your bed, rump scratches, and unauthorized zucchini and cherry tomato heists.

🐾 She's funny, affectionate, playful with other dogs, incredibly smart, and has enough personality for three Labradors.

🐾 Sydney doesn't need another stop. She needs her forever home.

➡️ MEET SYDNEY: Pints for Pups, Saturday, August 29 at 6:30 p.m. at Taplandia Taproom in Tigard, OR. ⬅️

Please come meet her. Just keep an eye on your hamburger🍔❤️!

Please share this post to help us find Sydney her perfect home.
