Goldens in need of new homes come from a variety of circumstances. Some of our dogs have not had a loving family in the past, but many have.

Golden Bond Retriever Rescue is an all volunteer run, non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Golden Retrievers, Labrador Retrievers and Retriever mixes. Some come to us due to compelling family situations such as death, divorce, family illness, relocation or economic hardship. Other Goldens are released to rescue because of behavior problems due to lack of exercise and poor understanding of the needs of the breed. Like many rescue organizations, we offer the benefits of being able to provide dogs who are already spayed or neutered, who have had a sound fundamental health examination, and whose temperament is fairly well known (since they have all lived with our foster families). Some may have behavioral problems, but many do not. And some need special medical care, just as most any dog will eventually. Many of our dogs need some level of training. All of our dogs need significant amounts of time, attention, patience, and love to adjust to their forever homes. Golden Bond Rescue is a resource for people who would like to give Golden Retrievers (or dogs that are mostly Golden) a second chance in life.

🐾❤️ SUCCESS SUNDAY ❤️🐾

It is with great excitement we are announcing that we are adopting Cody. He has been in our care since the beginning of September, but needed clearance from the vet before we finalized his adoption. We knew when we met Cody (now Kodi) that he would eventually be a good fit. The cats are his buddies, he is awesome with other dogs and very well mannered. He is a show stopper!

Thank you for this opportunity to adopt a golden needing rehoming quickly. He was a special case whose owner was in Hospice. Cody was obviously loved but needed some extra care. He ended up having AKC papers and a reputable breeder who wanted him back if GBR could not find him a home. We have a picture of his father winning first prize at a competition and Cody with his mom and litter. None of this was expected.

Cody was well loved and will continue to be because of your organization. Thank you for this opportunity to add another Golden into our home.

If you know someone who is in the tough position of having to give up their retriever, please tell them about Golden Bond. Our mission is to find them the best possible home.

Dominio IV has invited Golden Bond to their third annual Howl-O-Ween shindig on the farm! You're encouraged to bring your pup and dress 'em up. There will be doggie tarot, great wines to drink, and Cousin's Maine Lobster 🦞 will be on-site serving up lobster dogs (get it?).

🐾❤️ FOSTER DOG UPDATE/ AVAILABLE SOON ❤️🐾

Some of you might remember seeing photos of Boone 4512 who came into Golden Bond severely neglected and with terribly infected skin and large areas of missing fur. The poor guy must have been in so much pain! Fast forward two months; thanks to his awesome foster family, he's a new dog and is looking and feeling so good! Look for Boone to be ready for adoption and available soon.

🐾❤️ SUCCESS SUNDAY- ADOPTER UPDATE! ❤️🐾

An update on our sweet little Woody. He is adapting well, and we think he likes being an American citizen! He sure likes the food and treats, and toys aren’t so bad either! He always is carrying one with him! He is such loving little guy! I honestly had to teach him how to get up on the sofa. He still needs a little help from mom sometimes. He is a cuddler, and just wants to be loved.

And he most definitely is 😍🐶. And check out his sister Taipei who came from Taiwan in 2015!

Woody is one of the retrievers that came over this year from China in conjunction with a partner Chinese dog rescue. These dogs are amazing and deserving. If you think you might be interested in adopting an International dog and aren't yet approved and trio reside in the Pacific Northwest, please review our application progress. We can only bring dogs over that are matched to adoptive or foster homes.
