Sunny Side Up Rescue, Inc.

Sunny Side Up Rescue, Inc. Sunny Side Up Rescue is a non-profit organization specializing in the rescue, rehabilitation, and placement of homeless and/or abused animals.

Sunny Side Up Pet Rescue Florida is located in Port St.Lucie. We’re 100% volunteer-operated and funded solely through donations. All animals in need are welcome here, although it’s primarily dogs and horses currently. While continuing our broad scope of animals that are rescued, we have begun to take in more at-risk equines. We primarily focus on the elderly, starved, and abused horses within the

slaughter pipeline—those with less of a chance of being saved due to their condition. We offer sanctuary for life to animals that are not adoptable for whatever reason, as well as rehabilitating and adopting out ones that just require a second chance.

❤️Coexist ❤️

The Sandhill cranes that took their time crossing in front of you may very well have saved you from being in the wreck just a bit further down your travel.

We all have loved ones we want to go home to, humans aren't the only ones 😉

This handsome, playful and loving boy is still available. I'm not sure how but he is 🤔

Dewey is a 4-5 year old male(neutered) poodle. He is crate, leash and house trained. Loves to play but is also content to sit/lay with you for as long as you like.

Dewey is currently in his crushed velvet phase after a full body shave. He had dreads that would make Bob Marley jealous when he came😆

We had some new visitors last week. There's a fawn with them, but she's back in the tall grass.

We don't post these guys in real time anymore because the neighborhood is changing. More people, more traffic and more people poaching.

Change is inevitable, but it's not always for the best 🙄

This started with a broody hen who decided her job was done when one hatched 😆

🐣Eggs into the incubator just in case. A few days later, there were loud peeps from the incubator. Cool!
🐣 A couple of days later, no more have hatched. So we feel bad and go get a chick friend for it.
🐣The next morning and every morning since a new one has hatched....

Crazy chicken lady status is approaching quickly 😆

🐥Chicks have always amazed me...the amount of work they have to do just to get out of the egg and live.
They aren't delivered meals in a comfy nest by parents. Even when raised by a hen, they have to feed themselves and stay out of harms way. Its like an episode of survivor from their first pip. 🐣

This is why we ask you to come to pick up food when you say you're going to. 1" of rain in a half hour 🙄

This is not the first time we have put food aside to be picked up for it to sit and sit. The c***s, possums, hogs will eat it if it's left out overnight so if you don't come it has to be put away. Then the next day put out again because you say your coming. If it gets soaked WE have to handle it again to throw it away.

We spend a day and a tank of gas to go across the state to pick up. We spend the next day separating it for distribution to the community and for our rescue residents. Then we put it out for you when you say you're coming, which is multiple times and days because we help as many as we can. There's a lot of handling involved that takes time away from other responsibilities so - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SHOW UP.

***We always tarp it because it is Florida after all, it can be sunny as can be and dump an ocean! But the wind can be dicey too.

Wishes and Fred enjoying their first "runabout". It's one of our favorite things to watch...pure unfiltered joy 🥰
