Ticks are a common problem for both free-roaming and indoor-only cats nationwide. These parasitic pests can cause a variety of problems for cats due to their ability to transmit a wide range of diseases.

Luckily, there are a number of effective, prescription tick prevention medication options available. We recommend discussing a treatment plan with your vet if your cat is not currently on parasite preventatives.

If you find a tick on your cat, it's important to act quickly and safely. You can either try to remove the tick yourself or take your cat to your nearest pet urgent care or an emergency pet hospital to seek help. 🚨
