Update 1/13/17- I received the "go ahead" from my surgeon yesterday. Today I saw my prosthetic peeps for the final fit. I left them with a new leg. I am sooo excited to be moving forward finally. I have a long way to go still and a ton of physical therapy to do, but I am ready to rock n roll. Never been afraid of some hard work =) Huge thank you to my surgeon and his team. They are an awesome bunch. Mega huge thank you to my prosthesis team Justin and Debbie are incredible. Much love to you as well. I am humbled and grateful for all the support from all of you. This has been a very long journey and even though it is not over yet, I can see light at the end of the tunnel. With hard work, perseverance and all the love from family and friends I know that I will be back to it in no time.

My daughter Brenda was involved in a motorcycle accident and will be having surgery to repair a bad fracture of both bones sometime tonight or tomorrow. I know she has many friends who really care for her and would want to know what's happening. Needless to say, she won't be working her Four On T...

UPDATE- Saw wound clinic doc today. They cleaned everything up again (apparently we're gonna do that every visit, uhg).For most of the wound he said he was happy with the progress and new skin growth and how it looked. there is a large area tho that isnt looking as good as hoped. Another round of antibiotics and 6-7 more weeks of treatment. They are going to try a procedure that uses placenta or fo****in cells but have to wait to see if insurance will approve it. The ins. already denied one option and wont even help pay for dressing to keep the wound clean. They would rather pay for an amputation rather than the care it takes to heal. Fingers crossed that they approve this one.

Have not posted on here in a while. SHAME ON ME!!! To all that check this post, Keep an eye out for abscesses . It seems to be that time of year again. Also keep an eye on the amount of grass you critters are eating. even tho it is technically still winter. the warm weather has promoted a LOT of new grass growth. remember NEW grass has NEW sugar. Keep an eye out for all of these things and we'll talk again soon. Happy Trails.

It is starting to get muddy out there folks. It is time for thrush meds and what not. Horses feet start getting softer in this kind of environment don't forget to check them often.

Ok everyone I hope you all enjoy this sunshine. DO NOT forget to check your critters. Lots of water available to all our 4 legged friends. Shady spots to get out of the heat. If you are out and about on the trails take it slow, no one has had a chance to acclimate to this hot weather coming at us. Enjoy and be safe

I am seeing a lot of issures with cracks, splits, founder...... The spring time is NO time to push of you farrier care. Back and forth weather warm, cold rain and sun, They cause issues if not kept up on. Spring grass is full of sugar be cautious about how much you allow your horses to graze.
