Some Happy Tails are worth waiting a little longer to share. ❤️
Last month, after 402 days in our care, Stetson was adopted! We wanted to give him time to settle into his new home before celebrating, and the updates we've received have made us so happy.
Stetson is doing great and enjoying the country life. He loves exploring, splashing around in his kiddie pool, playing ball, and, of course, hanging out on the couch.
His journey to this point wasn't always easy. After spending so much time in the shelter, he began to feel the environment taking a toll on him. He was becoming increasingly stressed, fearful, and shut down. We knew Stetson needed a chance to decompress outside of the shelter and show us who he really was.
That's when Terry and David stepped up.
In February, they opened their home to Stetson and fostered him for 156 days. They gave him the time, patience, and space he needed to decompress, build confidence, and learn what it was like to live in a home. He even found a friend in their dog, Becky, who became a pretty great foster sister.
Because of them, we got to watch Stetson come out of his shell and see more and more of the personality we knew was there all along.
Today, he's not just out of the shelter. He's home.
Thank you to Terry and David for giving Stetson exactly what he needed when he needed it, to Becky for helping show him the ropes, and to every staff member, volunteer, supporter, and friend who loved and cared for Stetson throughout those 402 days.
And a very special thank you to Stetson’s new family for opening their home and hearts to him, giving him the time he needed to settle in, and continuing to share updates with us. Seeing him comfortable, happy, and loved is everything we wanted for him.
Happy Tails, Stetson. This one means a lot. ❤️🐾
