This hognose has been so amazing to work with. Meet Symphony! She is an Arctic het Albino western hognose. Her temperament is absolutely gold! She will be one of our ambassador animals for sure. Her personality mixed with her amazing pattern will be popular amongst the kiddos.

Sorry I have been missing for a week. I had a plan to be positing daily, but God LITERALLY turn my life upside down.

After a scary health emergency on my part, and my baby having a sudden respiratory issue, this week is starting with a new outlook on life.

That being said, the last pairing still hasn't been voted on. So, I figured I would post a poll in here once I share pictures of the potential groupings. Look in the comments for the potential groups and vote on the poll!!!

So we said we had a big surprise happening as well. Things are changing all around as the harshness of an Alaskan winter moves on (knock on wood) and the world is beginning to wake up again. With growth comes change.
Without further ado, we are expanding our operations from pythons into colubrids. Mainly
🐽WESTERN HOGNOSE SNAKES!🐽
These three little cuties joined the tangled this winter and we will be raising them up to breed starting hopefully next year.
If you are interested in buying a future hognose with us, we will have a limited amount of babies, so please let us know sooner than later to get on the list. These cuties are awesome and need a fair bit of husbandry knowledge, so start studying now!
Please welcome:
🌈Skittles! He is our male Qlbino Conda who is 66% het Sable.
🪢Twix! Our cranky Arctic het Sable female.
And lastly, the sweet 🎶 Symphony! Who is also an Arctic but she is het Albino!
So again if you are intersted in hognose for the 2027 season please contact us now to be on the list.

This breeding season we have so many amazing options to breed to! It has been a difficult choice of who to breed and who to hold back for the following season, but we finally did it. Introducing our 2026 line up for this year. There are some new faces and some good old boys being brought front and center.
Due to poor fertility last year, we changed up some husbandry habits. It seems to be doing everyone a bit of good. We have 5 females breeding this year in hopes to have at least 3 good clutches to produce from.
First we have a new female named Autumn, the Mojave Goldblush. She will be paired with one of our very own, in home produced males, Apocalyptica, the Black Pastel Leopard Pinstripe (possibly something else in there too). We chose to not go with the BEL complex with this pairing to bring out that beautiful Goldblush with hopefully some Pinstripe, which is also a golden toned gene and will play with pattern, too.
Next is our BEL complex group. We have Sterling, the Bamboo het Hypo; and the beautiful Pranee, the Bamboo Pastel Disco. They will both be paired to Fester, the Lesser triple Het Clown Albino Pied. We wanted to have some BELS if at all possible and see what happens to Lesser or Bamboo when mixed with not just 3 but possible 4 hets from Sterling, and see how the Disco and the Pastel play on possoble triple hets in Lesser, Bamboo, or normals also.
We have for our last pick of the season is Oracle, our newest female, who is a Lavender Albino. She will be paired with Zapper, a Lavender Albino Spider (beautifully named by my husband). Now, we know that there are some issues with the Spider gene that have been found to be linked with inner ear issues, and with a low stress young life can be improved with age. So, with that understanding, some of these babies may not make it. Howevwr, we want to give them the best care possible and bring some beautiful healthy babies into the Sugar and Ice world.
Now, if you have read ALL of this congrats! You like what we do and I am so honored to have you on our journey thus far. The last pairing we haven't decided yet. We have some ideas and would like some input. We have
• Banananaconda (albino) × Fester (Lesser trpl het albino, clown, pied).
• Scarlett (normal Dinker) × Fester (Lesser trpl het albino, clown, pied).
•Calliope (leopard pin) × Capt'n Hook (Super Banana female maker)

We need help choosing! Please let us know what you think!

I still don't understand how this beautiful girl has not found her new digs. She is shy, but adventurous. She may be lady like in nature fool you though, she is wicked fast when it comes to taking her food. She is ready to breed if you want her for a breeding project. She also would make a fantastic pet for an intermediate keeper.

Where her sisters struggled this girl is winning!! She is fire!!! I am so impressed with this little girl. She is our only hold back and is just stunning. We are guessing she is the all gene baby. Banana, calico, pastel, fire with possible enchi. We need to do a shed test when she is a bit older.

There are many challenges raising reptiles in Alaska. The largest one will always be how to keep heat and humidity up in an enclosure during the winter.
Winters in the interior of Alaska and the arctic zones can get down to -50 or more. When the air is that cold, all humidity freezes and dries the air to 30% humidity or less.
Raising reptiles can be so rewarding. So, making sure they are getting proper husbandry (care) in all types of environments, is always important.
