Good morning friends. I have put off making this announcement as long as I could. We will likely not have puppies this summer. Poppy is having a "split heat cycle". We have never had this issue before, but the longer you breed dogs, it is inevitable that you will encounter things you have never seen before.
In Poppy's case, she went into heat and then her cycle stopped progressing. We have continued to test and wait, but with no sign of the 2nd, fertile part of her cycle. We are as disappointed as many of you.
We do not know if this will be a life long issue for her.
We do have hope for future puppies! Pearl just turned 2 and we are getting her clearances in order. I will continue make you aware of any new developments.
