It’s back to school season and we have two Beginner Nose Work classes starting this week.

The session is 7 weeks long and will be held on Wednesdays at Pawsitive Training Zone.

We have two openings in the 7 pm
Session. The cost is $120

Nose Work gives your dog “a job” to do, builds confidence, provides stimulation in a safe environment and increases the bond with their handler.

Come train with Certified National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW) Instructor Sandra Carbonell, who is also a nosework judge in many venues and host of local nosework events. She’ll get you and your dog started In the exciting journey of nosework that your dog will certainly enjoy.

I love when I receive photos of TIRED DOGS after they work hard using their minds in Nose Work Classes !

Today Goose the German Shepherd worked on high hides, converging odor between multiple hides and a large search area - here is the “after photo” @ Home.

His owner Brittany sent me this photo saying “Tired” ❤️❤️

Wednesday are a whirlwind at Pawsitive Training Zone!

Nosework classes span from Beginner class to level 4 Interiors classes

We had 4 classes who graduated this week - super proud of how each team has developed the last 6 weeks.

Friday night training for AKC canine good citizen, advanced canine good citizen and UKC spot test. These tests all combine socialization, manners and obedience.

Our dogs Hero, Tillie, Buddy and George are all doing excellent working on these skills.

Gunny “found” the nosework hide with a little pairing treat of hotdog but had to figure out how to get to it…

It is kind of hard when you are under the stool and the treat is on the outside of the stool 🤩

What an absolutely amazing weekend kicking off nose work season with our CPE Scent trial! Saturday was rainy and muddy but the dogs handled it all so well. Sunday was much better weather wise.

The teams did fantastic searching the different search areas that Judge Kim Dykstra and Judge Jennifer Hassett set up throughout the weekend. Both judges were fun and supportive too.

A huge shoutout to all the amazing volunteers that say “yes I can help” during our trials. You all are amazing ! The winners of our volunteer raffle for $100 gift certificates were Mary Lou-Flowers and Paula Chatfield. Thank you Lynn, Christy, Marilyn and Toni for being the support team for the trial this weekend.

And thanks to the amazing competitors who came out to compete !!! You all took the “best dogs” home with you at the end of each trial day.
