Friday Evening - Handler Discrimination - 2 Trials

Saturday & Sunday - Containers, Imterior, Exterior and Vehicles - 1 Trial Per Day

Wednesday are a whirlwind at Pawsitive Training Zone!

Nosework classes span from Beginner class to level 4 Interiors classes

We had 4 classes who graduated this week - super proud of how each team has developed the last 6 weeks.

Intro to Nose Work class graduates: Paxton & Koda, Jack & Enzo, Darlene & Rose

Intro to Odor class graduates: Vicki, Jonathan & Watson, Marilyn C & Doughnut, Marilyn S & Tillie, Marilyn S & Paxton

Interiors class graduates: Vera & Rayna, Linda & Honey, Jennifer & Remmy, Tracy & Rumor, Laura & Blaze, Bri & Sadie Mae, Mona & Piper

Friday night training for AKC canine good citizen, advanced canine good citizen and UKC spot test. These tests all combine socialization, manners and obedience.

Our dogs Hero, Tillie, Buddy and George are all doing excellent working on these skills.

This Saturday June 7th, come out and visit the Pawsitive Training Zone vendor tent at the Animal Protective League (APL) Donut and Dogs 5K from 9 am - 12 Noon at Southwinds Park in Springfield, IL

Gunny “found” the nosework hide with a little pairing treat of hotdog but had to figure out how to get to it…

It is kind of hard when you are under the stool and the treat is on the outside of the stool 🤩

Cherri McCullough was a friend and enjoyed bringing her dog Paxton to nose work classes at Pawsitive Training Zone.

What an absolutely amazing weekend kicking off nose work season with our CPE Scent trial! Saturday was rainy and muddy but the dogs handled it all so well. Sunday was much better weather wise.

The teams did fantastic searching the different search areas that Judge Kim Dykstra and Judge Jennifer Hassett set up throughout the weekend. Both judges were fun and supportive too.

A huge shoutout to all the amazing volunteers that say “yes I can help” during our trials. You all are amazing ! The winners of our volunteer raffle for $100 gift certificates were Mary Lou-Flowers and Paula Chatfield. Thank you Lynn, Christy, Marilyn and Toni for being the support team for the trial this weekend.

And thanks to the amazing competitors who came out to compete !!! You all took the “best dogs” home with you at the end of each trial day.

Pawsitive Therapy Dogs spread some joy and love this morning at the Ronald McDonald House in Springfield, IL, for our “Doughnuts and Dogs” breakfast gathering.

The children of families staying enjoyed petting the dogs and also collecting trading cards of the therapy dogs.

This morning’s Nosework “out and about” was at the Sherman Village Park. There were lots of children having fun in a nearby playground and also great distractions in the park too.

These dogs knocked it out of the park — they had their A Games on for their nose work searches today.

What an amazing Wednesday at Pawsitive Training Zone - four classes graduated !! These dogs have all grown so much In this session and have drive and excitement about nose work.

Our Level 4 Interiors graduates were: Goose & Brittany, Travis & Helen and Dawn & Ivy. These teams are heading into Advanced Skllls class now.

Our Level 1 Intro to Nose Work class graduates were: Myah & Jon, Watson & Jonathan / Vicki, Tillie & Marilyn and Doughnut & Marilyn. They will be heading into Intro to Nose Work class now.

Our Level 3 Containers & More class graduates were: Sadie Mae & Bri, Remmy & Jennifer, Honey & Linda, Rayna & Vera, Blaze & Laura, Rumor & Tracy, Piper & Mona and Doc & Jake. They will be heading into Interiors.
