And then she was gone...
At 3a this morning, our girl Brie left us. She fought the good fight, but in the end her body had different plans - but it was on her terms.
We pulled Brie from Bowling Green, KY back in 2012 at about 6m of age. She's been a staple here ever since. Her bark was the loudest, her jaw the most misaligned, and she became a piranhna when it came to taking treats. Brie also loved sleeping in bed with Glenn the best, was perfect for baths and mani/pedis, and loved her pizza crust. She'd make us chuckle every night when she'd run into her crate while I was making everyone's dinner as if to say, ' This is where I'll wait for my dinner so as not to get in the way. I'm ready to eat now.".
Just 1 wk ago we took her to the vet because something was 'off'. Bloodwork showed her liver were off the charts but she was still eating/drinking and jumping up on the couch without issue, etc so we just added meds and giving subcue fluids 2-3 times a day to help heal her liver. Then 2 days ago everything changed. She was losing weight, no longer eating, stopped jumping on the couch, started vomiting some, and just going out for a p*e was an effort because she was just so weak. Yesterday was her worst and Glenn and I talked about making the dreaded appt. She beat us to it though. Like her personality, it was gonna be on her terms, next to Glenn, in the place she knew best.
We know she'll find the others before her from our home in the next world. We just hope it's filled with cheese, bacon, pizza and peanutbutter. We will miss you Brie-bee. 💔
