Please watch your pups for signs that they need to come inside (whether they want to or not). We had more than a couple dogs picking up their feet and/or limping their way back to the house this morning because their paws just can't take the coldness. Not only is the snow cold, but the ground itself and today we're not gettting out of the 20's. Frostbite can be extremely painful for them and a dog like Lager is hard to get back inside because he LOVES the snow - but at least he'll follow everyone else indoors when it's been enough outside time.
It only takes minutes....

So Mack's surgery today went well. The growth on his ear was removed along with the one on his bottom jaw and he also got a dental done. The dental was what I was worried about the most since it was challenging given he has enamel hypoplasia. Because he was so sick so young, the enamel on his teeth wasn't developed properly. My fear was that they're taking tartar off and some of the enamel would come with it - but that wasn't the case. So he's all good but still groggy tonight.
Tonight will be a much better night's sleep for me then last night was for sure.

PS Not a great pictiure I know - but as you can see, Lou is glad to have his personal heater back in the house 😆 And how Mack gets himself so small boggles my mind LOL

As you know, I like to take the time to personally mention and thank those who donate. We received a Dasuquin delivery yesterday, but there was no note. So thank you to our 'Secret Santa' for that as we have multiple dogs on this supplement daily

Some sad news...

We've learned that Frenchie (Morty) left this world yesterday. He was a part of my post from just a few days ago as one of those fosters that made a big impression on me as he was my first deaf adult that we fostered here.

He was vocal, quite the character, strong as an ox, and a little cantankerous but when you showed him love - he turned to mush. He came to us from a rescue in KY where he escaped from his owner by busting out a screen which was the source of the scar above his left eye. They thought of him as a nuisance so they signed him over to just 'get rid of him'.

He stayed with us for over a year until we found the perfect home for him with Brian and Rich back in 2015. They gave him love and stability along with adventures that he had only dreamed of before.

May he chase after every squirrel up there, get all the bacon he wants, and Rest in Peace

Today we thank Elizabeth R & Elizabeth V for their monetary donations. We also received paper towels from Kimmy W which we use on the daily here and we were almost out, so that was some good timing and thanks

Feeling Nostalgic:

This morning I went looking for a picture of a past foster. I have multiple flash drives AND even cds so I ended up taking a walk down memory lane for almost 2hrs!

Many young pups just blend together, but I remember names like nobody's business LOL Some of the adults that were with us longer stuck out like the ones below... Their stories are on each pic.

BTW if anyone has lost their pups pictures, I have loads of them if they came from us 😆

After a delivery and getting the mail today, thanks to Lois for her check donation and Leo (& his family) for the treats donation. Even 'handful of teeth Lou' can handle the soft treats so he's a very happy camper right now 😆

Just wanted to take a moment to thank all those who donated funds as of today. So our shoutout goes to Carrie, Judy, Terese, Beth, LuAnn, & Deborah for helping us. These donations will be going towards Mack's surgery on the 13th to remove that growth on the inside base of his ear. It's gnarly lookin' I know, but we're just hoping it's an easy, uneventful removal.

Today is Giving Tuesday and we normally choose not to participate. I absolutely HATE asking for money since historically it's the least successful ask when it comes to donations. But desperate times call for desperate measures. We're barely surviving at this point. Faith has a growth on her lower eyelid we're trying to manage rather than go the route of surgery. Mack has a growth in his ear and is scheduled for surgery on the 13th and I don't exactly know how much that alone is going to cost. The vet also has him scheduled mid January for removal of 2 other growths that they don't have the time to address in the Dec surgery.
So here we are, asking for help. We have Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, and you can always send a hard check. Details you would need are below:
