We had a good time hunting yesterday.
It was very tricky but we managed to knock off 10.
After a couple major changes as well as making the environment more hostile I think this property owner will see a big difference for the better. The rats were really comfortable and we seen them just walking about every time we would settle the dogs and peek in a barn. Start the dogs back up and the rats slipped away under the concrete barn stalls.

My biggest piece of advice for people having rat issues is do not have anything in direct contact with the ground.
- Building materials as well as extra odds & ends need to be stacked on skids (not pallets) at least 6” off the ground. That way you can clean out debris easily with a stick or broom.
- Chicken coops are your worst enemy. These need raised off the ground at least 10’. Ideally more, 12 - 18”. If you’re worried about wind, make some easily removable panels for the side that takes the wind.

The dogs were a bit over zealous with dispatching so no photo with the rats to appease the meta machine.

Hey guys we have been quiet on the page but we are still here. I have been having some health stuff on top of a very busy schedule and there hasn’t been much content worthy hunts happening. We have checked out some spots but not much action as of late.

Stay tuned as we are making a trip out East to New Jersey to meet up with our friend Chris from R.A.T.S which is formally Richard Reynolds group. City hunting will be a new adventure for us but if all goes well we will def go back and invite some more handlers from SCRC.

Here’s a little story from a month ago:
This puppy girl dispatched her first large adult rat 100% by herself!
She’s been clearing juvenile rats and pups from dens/nests that other dogs can’t fit in or are too busy to deal with the young. Glad she could actually get a chance at dispatching an adult before someone could sn**ch it from her. It did bite her but she’s a tough little thing and just got after it harder. She was just turning 9 months old and I couldn’t be happier with our little girl!

For those of you who have the horse stables and warehouses that are the Rat Fort Knox… We have two pellet rifles, one with a night scope.

While we love to hunt vermin historically with the dogs we aren’t against using modern solutions 😏

Also! This scope takes video!

Went out for a pre trip yesterday. Robbie ended up locating an old ground hog tunnel the rats claimed and knocked off 6 of them for the property owner.
He told us that there were more under the deck but the ground was still frozen and digging was tough. We’ll be back at a warmer more thawed out time.

We have some messages in our inbox that we are unable to respond to. I’m not sure if it’s a glitch on messenger or if the sender has some sort of setting that doesn’t allow a page to reply. It says “This person is unavailable on messenger.” The only options it gives me are to archive or delete the message.

Anyway, the weather sucks. I’m pushing most jobs off until better weather but totally willing to try and help you out over messenger. I have a little list running for spring for rat jobs.
I also want to take the time to remind you all we don’t do residential stuff. It’s never a good idea to put these dog into someone’s home to work. The dogs can be destructive. We can do locating in un-lived in buildings and of course if we are at a place and the dogs hit on the home we will show you where the dogs say there is rat traffic to the home.

Stay warm!

We never push our puppies. They get in when they are ready. On this day she got in there herself and got to digging. Shes cleaned out nests of pups before but these were her first big rats!

Good girl, Wendy.

Winter is here! We know your hay lofts can bring in unwanted critters of the larger variety. Not only do they make a mess and spoil your hay but they are vectors of rabies, Leptospirosis, & distemper among other things.

Got a raccoon problem? That’s no problem for Flora & Robbie.
