Fun fact: Nova truly believes R***r is her baby daddy 😂🖤

Ever since she became pregnant, she’s been attached to him. They sleep together every day, and she always has to be curled up between his legs like that’s her emotional support Cane Corso 🐾

I honestly think everyone in this house is going to be confused when the kittens arrive.

One thing I love about Maine C***s is how well they do with other animals 🖤

Maine C***s are known for their social, easygoing personalities and often bond incredibly well with both cats and dogs — especially when properly socialized early. In our home, socialization starts at just 2 weeks old so they grow up confident, curious, and comfortable around everyday life and other animals 🐾

Got to visit Pengu !! Now named Goose 🖤 who just turned ONE in April! I seriously can’t believe how fast time flies. Seeing him so loved and spoiled absolutely made my day.

It also made me realize I haven’t gotten many updates lately from the last Dragon litter! If you have a kitten from this litter, drop a recent picture in the comments and tell me what their name is now. I’d love to see how everyone has grown 🐾✨

Another little paw has found their forever place to land 🐾💕

Congratulations to Josh and Polly on welcoming your newest family member home! I’m so excited for the memories, cuddles, and adventures you’ll all share together. Watching these babies find families who already love them so much is always the best part of this journey. Wishing you all a lifetime of purrs, love, and happiness together! ✨

Due to unforeseen circumstances, Malta’s previous owner will need to wait a little longer before she’s able to bring home a kitten. Because of this, sweet Malta is officially searching for his furever home once again. 🧡

If you’ve been following Malta’s journey, then you already know this little guy is an absolute fighter. Now that he’s healthy and thriving again, his personality is truly shining. He purrs nonstop, constantly seeks out human affection, and is happiest curled up beside you for cuddles. Of course, he still has that playful kitten energy, but he’s definitely on the sweeter, gentler side of the orange kitten stereotype. 🐾

Malta is ready for a family who will love him as much as he loves everyone around him.

Our beautiful Kenya has flown the nest 🐾 It felt so empty not waking up to her little cuddles this morning, but knowing she’s with such a loving new mama brings me so much peace.

Congratulations, Sharon 💕 I can’t wait to watch you two grow together and see all the love and memories ahead for Kenya in her forever home.

The face behind the cattery 🐾

Hi I’m Chelsea ☺️

I’ve been breeding for 4 years now, and honestly… I still learn something new every single day. That’s one of the things I love most about this journey. The friendships I’ve made through breeding, the support system, the late night talks, the shared excitement — it’s become such a huge part of my life.

It all started because I fell completely in love with the breed. After owning my first Maine C**n, I knew one would never be enough… now somehow six sounds reasonable 😂

Breeding definitely has its ups and downs. It can be exhausting, emotional, and overwhelming at times, but the passion always pulls me through. Coming home to kittens every day never stops feeling magical.

One of the biggest blessings in all of this is having my kids involved. They’re getting to grow up experiencing everything I wished I had as a child, and that means more to me than anything. ❤️

My real dream growing up was to become a veterinarian… but I quickly realized I did NOT have 10 years of school in me 🤣 So by day I’m a hairstylist, and the rest of the time I’m a full-time cat mom/breeder 24/7.

My goal has always been to produce healthy, well-rounded, extremely sociable, and beautiful Maine C***s that families truly fall in love with. Health and temperament will always come first for me. ❤️

Thank you to everyone who’s supported my journey so far 🫶

“Breeding cats must be so easy.” 🥰🐾

Meanwhile, in the newborn stage we’re over here doing all of this around the clock:

🍼 Assisting births when needed
✂️ Helping with umbilical cords when momma doesn’t know what to do yet
⚖️ Weighing kittens 2–3 times a day to make sure every gram is going the right direction
🍗 Feeding momma extra meals 4+ times a day to keep up milk production
🧼 Cleaning and sanitizing the enclosure 2–3 times daily
👀 Constantly checking umbilical cords for infection or irritation
🌡️ Monitoring body temperature and making sure kittens stay warm enough
🩺 Watching for fading kitten syndrome symptoms
🧻 Stimulating kittens if needed to help them potty
🍼 Supplementing with bottle feeding/tube feeding if anyone falls behind
😴 Sleeping in shifts to monitor nursing and make sure nobody gets pushed away from mom
📈 Tracking daily developmental milestones
🚨 Monitoring mom for mastitis, retained placentas, low calcium, or postpartum complications
🐾 Socializing gently from day one while still keeping stress low for momma

And this is just the FIRST TWO WEEKS. ❤️

Ethical breeding is not “letting cats have kittens.” It’s round-the-clock care, education, sacrifice, and being prepared for emergencies before they happen

I’m not proud to admit this… but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do. 😭

We officially have iPad kittens. 📱🐾

At the end of the night, when the zoomies hit level 100 and absolutely nobody wants to settle down, we pull out the iPad and let them watch reels. 💀

Do they still try to fight the screen? Yes.
Do they accidentally exit every video every 3 seconds? Also yes.
Do they slap the comments section like they’re trying to type? Absolutely.

But for at least 10 minutes… everyone stays in one place and I regain a small amount of sanity. 😂

Registration papers and pedigrees DO NOT automatically make someone an ethical breeder. 👏

People love to throw around:
📄 Registration — around $15
📜 Pedigree — around $45

That’s not what makes breeding ethical.

What matters is the health testing, veterinary care, and money invested into producing healthy kittens — BEFORE they ever go home.

Average costs ethical breeders pay per breeding cat:

🫀 Echocardiogram (HCM screening): $600–$1,200
🧬 Genetic testing: $120–$300
🩺 Veterinary exam/health certificate: $75–$200
🦠 Upper respiratory PCR panel: $200–$300
💩 F***l testing/panel: $120-$160
🩸 Bloodwork/CBC & chemistry: $250–$400
🦴 Hip grading/X-rays: $400–$800

And that doesn’t even include:
✔️ Quality nutrition
✔️ Prenatal & emergency care
✔️Health Guarantee/Contracts
✔️ Vaccines/deworming
✔️ Supplies
✔️ Time, socialization, and sleepless nights

Ethical breeding is about health, temperament, transparency, and responsibility — not just a piece of paper
