My name is Dr. Ashley Smith-Miller and I own PetVet365 South Hills in Pittsburgh, PA along with Dr. Megan Garrison. We believe the perfect vet visit is one where science meets heart with a sprinkle or two of magic. National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week is a good time to recognize the shelters and rescues that work every day to get animals like this one into homes where they belong.

Happy Halloween from all of us.

As a Fear Free certified network, we know a thing or two about turning "spine chilling" into "no big deal." A few precautions to take tonight:

- keep chocolate and candy well out of reach,
- watch the door during trick-or-treating so no one slips out,
- avoid any costume that restricts movement, vision, or breathing.

A little caution keeps the night fun for everyone, and helps you avoid any spooky situations (except for all the ghosts and goblins, of course).
